BEAT LA !!!

Well so much for sinking the Lake Show. At least we have a chance to beat a different LA team tonight. Kings have to realize that playing 4 1/2 quarters of decent basketball will not get it done.

I was at the game last night, and the lady friend I brought with me is in love with Kobe, despite the fact that I pretty much despise everything about him (even his talent.) She kept on plotting stupid ways of getting to meet him. And then she talked about ways to get him to marry her. (I then said I could say Kobe did something to me and maybe this time he wouldn't buy off his wife, thus prompting a divorce and leaving him single for her.) That didn't go over well. I kept pointing at the screen when the video came on of Slamson with his attractive lady acting all happy until she takes off her sweater and reveals a Kobe jersey, prompting Slamson to immediately pick her up and put her outside of his house. I suppose thats how deep this rivalry is for me that I wont date a Lakers fan.

It isn't just the basketball aspect. Its a regional rivalry as well. Its the whole nor-cal/so-cal thing as well. In fact, the basketball rivalry wasn't taken seriously until that playoff series. But it still exists today (one-sided or not) regardless of what some want to say. I would still say there is a rivalry seeing as how Arco was about a 3rd lakers fans last night.

Tragic inevitability. Its when things are going so well, you just know something terrible is going to happen. I had this feeling all night last night, i'm sure others did as well. Its that cliche 'too good to last.' I knew and understood we were going to lose as soon as we got that 11 point lead. It was just a matter of how and how painful it was going to be.

I have already harped on the Refs enough, not calling the game fairly. Lakers 40 fta's, Kings 17. And it isn't to say the Kings weren't being aggressive, they were (with the exception of the last 4 or so minutes.) The Lakers just weren't fouling (with the exception of the last 4 minutes or so.) The reality is the game plan went to hell the last 4 minutes and it became the Artest experience. The whole game, we were successful in running the offense through Brad with the occasional ISO for John or Ron. Also John was doing a stellar job on Kobe. That last 4 minutes, it was pound it into Ron. I'd be somewhat alright with that if he drove to the rim at all, but he just took fade away jumpers over the 6' 10" Lamar Odom. And then he decided that he was the guy to stop Kobe, and he did, to the tune of 16 ft attempts for Mamba. So this one is partly on Reggie, partly on the refs (small part), partly on Ron, and mostly on this idea of defense in the 4th quarter that they seem to have.

Luke Walton has the stupidest looking tattoo ever on his shoulder. Fitting that he's the stupidest looking player on the stupidest looking team. And his dad leaves me stupid looking.

Kings have a chance for revenge on Sunday. Something tells me that Staples won't be full of Kings fans.

Beno and Kevin both played really well. Salmons finally returned from the river. Artest was himself. Reggie should be slapped for giving Cisco 9 minutes and AJ 12. That is an entire quarter for AJ. Give Cisco 7 of those minutes and Douby the other 5. STOP PLAYING ANTHONY JOHNSON! He doesn't do anything.
