Kings can dump over $13M this summer

Following players have expiring contracts this year:

Corliss $6.5M
Pot $3.67M
Hart $1.68M
MoTaylor $1.07M
Price $0.66M

total $13.58M

Price is 50-50 at this point but the others go for sure IMHO.

The nine others are all under contract thru 08/09 with Bibby having options on his 2 final years. If these 5 go, the Kings will be under the Salary Cap but not all that much as they were so far over this year.

Opens up all sorts of possibilities for Kings, especially to get some draft choices. Pot and Mo can be backups for team short on bigs, Corliss fills several roles but might stay (great locker room and bench presence).

This is the key point unfortunately. Barring other moves, those cotnracts do not get us far enough under the cap to matter. Its still another MLE summer. To make it matter we either need to trade for some more enders, or to be "lucky" enough to have one of our best players opt out of his contract (Bibby), in whihc case we are lucky to be able to sign a guy as good back for that money.

Assuming that Bibby doesn't walk, I think the best we could hope for would go something like:

Corliss signs up for another year or two at minimum.
Justin Williams and Ronnie Price sign up for another 3 at minimum.
Money gets allocated for newly drafted guys.
We squeak by under cap.

KT for an ender would be nice say KT for Posey. Then we would have 20 mil coming off leaving us around 7 mil under the cap.

Not in relation to next year's cap, but this summer's moves. I believe we can offer Martin a contract extension this summer.
