Adelman's comments on 1140 a little over a week ago indicated that Evans defense needed a lot work.

I once posted on this forum that gave warnings to anyone being at all negative about anyone else's opinion. The only point to a FORUM is to discuss, and try to make other people see your side, and possibly agree with it. That forum didn't let you rebuttle anyone else, and they call themselves a forum. PSH.
anyways, that was my rant, hope you had fun reading it![]()

Just because you haven't seen Kevin do something, doesn't mean he can't do it. You're so convinced, despite Kevin's showing in both the SPDL and NOW
the summer league, that Garcia should be the primary option for the 2?
Personally, I'm pretty excited about the way Kevin is playing right now. Or is it just a fluke he's scoring lots of points, getting more and more comfortable in his role, etc.? He was the high scorer in the SPDL, and his scoring average was second only to Mike Bibby's. But I guess that's not enough for some people...
I think Kevin is going to prove himself this coming season and I'm very proud of him for working so hard already.
GO KINGS! BOTH KEVIN AND CISCO!!!

His motion is just too funky, and a bit slow (at least it was last season) to be a stand still shooter. In that way, Martin is almost the anti-Christie. He shoots better off the dribble, probably because that's how he's always practiced shooting that way.
Venom said:You seem to go out of your way to question my opinions, which is cool, but considering I've been at the games, and you have not even seen Cisco play yet (on any level?), misguided.
Apparently you also do not read all of my posts, as I also stated Martin has been unstoppable. I have not seen him shoot off the catch because he does not do it. He is not comfortable doing it, and he will not be doing it anytime soon. He is great off the dribble, but he uses that dribble as a crutch. Martin has taken a paucity of 3's because he needs a dribble to get into rythm.
And thesanity was right. Assuming the team makes no more moves, I prefer the help defense of Garcia for the first unit, and the scoring punch that Martin would provide for the second unit. Martin and Bobby could come in and light it up, with defensive stalwarts like Skinner and Tag manning the post positions. Martin and Bobby do not need the offense to create opportunities, which is perfect, because the rest of the second unit isn't going to provide any.
Lastly, all you people get so caught up on who starts. It doesn't mean jack. It's all about who finishes, and I imagine that will vary depending on who is playing well, the score, the flow of the game, and so on. And no, his scoring is not enough for me, because right now he plays "Kings" defense. We have plenty of guys who score, and add little else. Garcia is intense, plays defense, and eventually his shot will fall. I like Martin's offense a lot, but I like it best with the second unit. I don't like to mix it up, I just abhor the sycophantic behaviour common on this board.

Bricklayer said:Well the problem with the funkiness is it is what makes it slow. And that CAN be a detriment to Kevin ever developing a nice stop and pop in between game to go with his drives to the hoop. I also suspect that its one of the reasons he's nto a great FT shooter -- there is a lot of extra movement in that stroke, and a lot more that can go wrong. I'm far from anybody who should be talking about shooting, but the limitations are pretty obvious when you see it only a few times. His set shot also takes his jumping ability out of the equation and makes him "short" when shooting a "jumper". Will likely make it hard for him to get the shot off in traffic. Not necessarily fatal, but definitley something that can hold him back. Be nice if he could work with a shot doctor at some point.
