The calls are starting to get real old... but the Kings need to start expecting this now. This game was gift-wrapped for us by the Bulls number of turnovers and missed FT's.

The Kings did not capitalize on this by shooting poorly, playing carelessly at big moments during the 4th and letting themselves get down by so many points early.

I hate the officiating as much as the rest of you do, but these are games we could win DESPITE that. Go ahead, crucify me for pointing that out.

I'm hoping this is just a funk we're in instead of a steady decline to one of the lower seeds in the Western Conference.
I think you said this the right way. Your tact is much appreciated.

Exactly 4cwebb, i 'm glad you're not a blind homer. Maybe we should try blaming the game on our defense and rebounding for once??.
Guess what? 4cwebb isn't able to watch the games so he doesn't know.

Blind homers? Excuse me? If you want to call our members names, you're on the wrong board.

That part stops right now.

this is has been like a nightmare

i really can't wait for the all star break..not only for the guys who need the much needed rest and relaxation...and just to regroup period

but

for myself...i just need to take a step back

No, it's both.
Fair enough. Seems odd then that less people are pointing to CWebb again producing much less than a point per shot, or Bibby's continuing free throw line struggles, or the parade to the basket that was the Kings' defense tonight (all variables of the game much more within the Kings' control, btw), and more are just simply stating that the refs hosed the team.

i know that we lost and that sucks but hopefully this will cheer you up....

go kings.....
judging by the smudges on her "uniform", she looks like she isn't afraid to dive on the court for loose balls. Maybe someone should forward this to Peja...

Look, it really is THIS simple. Games are OFTEN close in the NBA, when they are close, it comes down to a couple things, concentration, execution, sometimes merely the bounce of the ball. What you DON'T need on top of those things is the distraction of having to overcome mistakes? (is it even possible that 3 highly trained professionals ALL missed the fact that his foot was in the circle, when that's freaking what they look for?) made by the refs. That blown call was a 5 point swing.
That's all you need to overcome a 4 or 6 point lead.
I didn't say it wasn't a blown call. But before everybody put all the blame on the ref shouldn't we look at ourself how many dribble penetration we allowed in the 4th quarter? Not to say miss FTs and careless turnover.

Variant - There's absolutely nothing in your post I don't agree with. My problem is that regardless of what happened during the game, at the end we were again in a position to win and were, in fact, clearly the team with the momentum. That basket by Brad and the +1 would have made it our game for the taking. By taking that away, the officials - after conferring and still getting it wrong - took all the wind out of the Kings' sails.

We can talk about how they should suck it up and play through it, but how many times can you do that when you have the real and distinct feeling the officials are doing everything they possibly can to keep you from winning?

True, I'm not able to watch the games, but I was able to hear the Bulls' announcers describe the play (Kings' broadcast wasn't working on nba.com for some reason tonight), and admit that Ben Gordon's heel was on the line, but a charge was called anyway. So, I *do know* that the charge call was made incorrectly.

I didn't say any names :D but i know, the truth is hard for some people to accept...

Whining about every call will not make the Kings any good, it will make matters worse, it already is.... The refs are starting to hate us.

And we hate the refs so it's even :)

Dude, it wasn't even Ben Gordon.

I hear ya... but we're between a rock and a hard place on this one. Stern and the NBA have time and time again proven that they don't give a da** about stuff like this, and since there's no "legal" recourse a team can take it's either play through it or start forfeiting games... IMHO the Kings need to go into games now assuming they are down 10 points and are going to get screwed out of at least five points at the end of the game.

Win despite the refs. Taunt them afterwards too. :)

I'm all for the venting though. The refs need to quit interjecting themselves into games in the critical moments.

Fair enough...I got the player that took the charge wrong. I guess I thought it was Ben Gordon b/c the announcers were talking about him bouncing around after the call. Did I get the description of the play right, other than the player for the Bulls?

Not able to defense is what keep us from winning.

There are things that we have a conrol over and sure we should try to do better, but there are things that our out of our control and that's what makes me mad.

Yep, it was something like that - Andres Nocioni was inside the circle with both feet. moved outside but his right foot was on the line/inside the circle when he made contact with Brad. Johnny Kerr called it a foul on Nocioni all the way, while Tom Doerr was shouting "No, no, they will overturn it". And they did.

Kings got robbed on that play. I am not saying that they would go on to win but after the call, all hte momentum was gone and Kings needed Bulls to miss all or most of their free throws for Kings to get back into the game. So, clearly referees influenced the outcome of the game to a certain extent.

We can still criticise Kings for feeble defense and very poor rebounding (even though Chandler was out) but the fact remains that refs played a huge role.
