Perhaps you are both missing the point. Fox gets the ball back with 12.1 seconds left on the clock. The game is tied. They need one point to win. What is the highest percentage shot he can take? A drive or pullup in the lane. You either make the shot or get fouled. What is the lowest percentage shot he could take? A three.
This was poor decision making, also known as hero ball.
No, I'm pretty sure it is YOU that is missing the point. You're way off in the weeds, complaining about things that don't need complaining.
Seriously, what is it about De'Aaron Fox that causes people some to constantly criticize him no matter how good or great the results are? It's not like the kid is some super cocky, outspoken bad boy. He's not out at strip clubs flashing guns or taking cheap shots at other players.
This ridiculous criticism, especially after big games and big wins, makes absolutely no sense. NONE.
The KINGS are likely gonna finish with their best record since 2004-2005. Fox is leading the charge by dominating Q4 and clutch points across the entire league, including hitting numerous game-winners, YET all some of you can manage to do in response is criticize his decision making and approach to free throws??
You guys engaging in this bush-league nonsense don't deserve to enjoy any of what's going on and what's yet to come.
Furthermore, smart guy, with regard to taking "a three" did you ever stop to consider that, with no timeouts and no chance to setup their defense, De'Aaron knew he'd be able to get an OPEN three due to the threat of his speed and quickness? He said as much during his postgame interview when they hadn't double-teamed him with "around" 4 seconds to go.
Instead, you foolishly believe an OPEN three in rhythm to be a lower percentage shot than, very possibly, a contested 2 considering the defense was playing back?
Furthermore, have you NOT followed De'Aaron career or the pattern of officiating toward the Sacramento Kings? Are you completely unaware?? It sure seems like it.
Swipa has a LONG history of getting poked, bumped, hit, slapped, slammed, you name it -- without a foul call. And last I checked the KINGS have been the victim of the most missed calls during the final 2 minutes of games this season.
But I'll bet none of that factored in to your "hot take".
The end all, be all is --- the shot went IN. As many other clutch shots have gone in for De'Aaron this season.
You'd think it'd appropriate to hold back criticism until, IDK, the guy actually makes a clear and obvious mistake that costs the team a win. Or at least performs poorly consistently.
But, nope. Our resident De'Aaron Fox naysayers don't roll like that. They always got $#1t to complain about even when the going is good.
Good, great, grand, wonderful. Have at it, bro. I'm done reading the incessant and unwarranted negativity from the usual suspects here. This season is too much fun for that.
