Kings @ Bucks Game Thread

We just sucked in the 2nd half to the point where it was almost physically painful to watch. For every three missed, i felt like someone wacked me in the head with a baseball bat.

Objectively, did most people think the Kings were going to do better than 1-2 on this road trip? Bibby was injured, Miller missed part of preseason because of injury. Martin was also hurting. A new system. I'm impressed they won the game in chicago last night.

Kings starting frontcourt: 7/18, 17 points, 14 rebs.

Bucks starting frontcourt: 22/34, 56 points, 19 rebs
Not a fair stat.

Our frontcourt has KT and Miller didn't play the whole game. So, it's a bit skewed.

What the true indicator should be though is that our ENTIRE frontcourt had 28 total shots compared to their STARTERS who had 34.

I have a freaking headache and it gets worse when i think the lakers are 3-0 and have something like 17 of their first 21 games at home...
yeah i know. i think it's 15/20. not sure either. but 1 of the "road" games are against the clips, so still @ staples. and then another road game was @ golden state. definitely a home heavy soft schedule to start the season.

i guess we'll have a point where we'll have a nice stretch, too. at least i hope we do.

SAR was actually one of our brighter spots today. Held his own in the post. Bibby flat out sucked shooting wise, artest--same old story no need to repeat, and martin was good in the first half. as of right now, making the playoffs is a huge reach if they continue to play like crap.

The diffence is that they give their bigs shots and they now how to rebound.

That was my point exactly...obviously things should improve when Ron starts hitting his shots, and when Brad is healthy...but there still needs to be more of a focus towards going inside rather than shooting jumpers.

If we remember Pedja's and DC's season with plantar fasciitis - we sure have something to look forward too:(
Well, the good news is that Miller is soft ... but not as soft as Pedja! So, I don't expect it to be the next killer ailment that Pedja would turn it into. :D

OK. I did not get to watch or listen to this one. I just got home and saw that score. I read through VF's PBP (THANKS!) and looked at some posts in this thread. From what I can see, we lost it in the third qtr. Other than Brad being out, what else was different? Were the shots just not falling or did they revert back to one-on-one like the other night? Basically, what in the world happened?

I hope Brad's faciitis isn't going to turn into an all seeason thing like Duncan's or Peja's long bout with it.

To me, it looked like Bogut just came out much more aggressive after the half. Once he was really established inside, it was bombs away from the outside and they were making them.

Not a good game. Honestly, tho? We're are undergoing a regime change with a new coach and staff. I expected it to be hard.

yeah i was really concerned when i heard he had plantar. hopefully it's a mild one and they didn't want to aggravate it or something that's why they didn't play brad.

i just hope it won't linger and make brad even less athletic than he already is.. if that's even possible ;)

get well soon brad! and mike! and whoever else is hurting

Everytime I see Ron shoot a three..I just want to barf..he keeps missing them and keeps on shooting them..it horid to watch..

agreed. Is someone afraid to tell him this because if they are i will fly from new york to sac and tell him myself. I can't watch him shoot and miss so much for 79 more games, i'll go crazy.

Bibby's wrist is still giving him problems. It's three games into the season. If you're that disappointed with this team now, you really might as well start watching shuffleboard or something...

What would make you think Ron will ever start to hit his shots?

He couldn't hit last year. He was never a sniper. He's a junk player and plays well off the ball.

If we continue to feed him like a primary option, we'll continue to see sub-40% shooting.

Have they given any updates on his wrist? what exactly is wrong with it?

True, but even 40% is an upgrade over 28%

They couldn't miss.

That's what changed. They went nutso.

As for us, we went away from what worked. In the first half, we were losing until we starting running plays and feeding the post. From there we captured the lead and went into half-time.

In the second half, we reverted to shooting 3s and covered jumpers. There was no team play. It was very one-on-one. Brad Miller not being in hurt us as Bogut went ballistic. Coach sat SAR and put KT on Bogut. The rest of the team decided that "missing was not an option" and that's all she wrote.

Perhaps its better if you don't know. If you really want to know it went something like this (3rd quarter)---Bucks hit a 3, kings travel, Bogut with a layup, Ron misses a 30 footer, Bucks with another 3, Bibby misses, ally oop to charlie V, kings timeout and a miss after, another 3 for the bucks, SAR travels and so forth...
