Kings assistant talks about "the system"

Is it a reach to suggest that the reckless offensive pace the Kings play at has a negative impact on their team defense? I don’t think so. Transition offense that doesn’t result in a score gives the opposing team an even better transition opportunity. Not to mention that, despite the fact that NBA players are world class athletes, I don’t know how fair it is to expect some of these players bring 100% of their energy on the defensive end when they know that at the change of possession they have to sprint down the court. I don’t know if it’s possible. They are not above getting tired, and other teams aren't tasked with sprinting down the court on every break.

It's not rocket surgery. How can we expect our team to know what to do when at least some of the assistant coaches are going against every logic to stay in lock step with George Karl?

No wonder Vlade fired Vance Walberg.

I mean; basically our philosophy is everything is better early. Every NBA action is better early.

It’s always time to break. There is never not a time to break. It’s not getting them to recognize, it’s getting them in the habit.

It's especially hard to read these after watching the Kings get thoroughly trounced down the stretch by a team that thrives on having the patience to work their offense until they get a good look.

And who also had no issue defending the Kings constant attempts at early offense.

Yep. Kinda like watching the farmer beat his plowhorse to death because the poor nag can't win any of the sprint races at the county fair.

This coaching staff is ****ing clueless.
Thanks George and Company for completely wasting a very important season for us Kings fans. I really wish these ***holes would just go on coach a high school track team and leave our Kings alone.

26 games, then everybody should mail each one of them, with the possible exceptions of Corliss and Nancy, a giant crapburger as going away present.

Seems that this staff has never thought about what happens after you try to attack early, and the play isn't there. Now what? Might want to have some reliable offense sets ready to go. Instead we get players just "attacking" and turning the ball over.

Exactly. This is my big problem with the offense. You want to force the issue and put pressure on the opposing defense, fine. That's not a bad Plan A when it's working. But where's Plan B?

Well I'm actually a believer in attacking the defense early, but even for me

it’s always time to break. There is never not a time to break. It’s not getting them to recognize, it’s getting them in the habit.
sounds disturbing.
Playing fast is fine, but we have to play under control.

A lot of standard top tier mentality here. The top teams thrive in semi transition possessions.
