This. I don't think Matthews is the end all be all.
I am not sure what frighten me more- if he signs the contract or if he doesn't...
Not a star and yet the highest paid player on our team if he takes the deal...Healthy he really is. Healthy he is perfect. Tough, defensive, utterly prolfiic 3pt spot shooter...not a star, but exactly the guy in the entire NBA you'd want out there to help Cuz.
Well, if he does, you'd have to assume it would be pending a medical.

While that is true. Do you bricklayer the GM pull the trigger on this? I am fully ok with it if you get 75+ games out of himHealthy he really is. Healthy he is perfect. You are assuming they are matching. They don't have toKinda a win-win imo. We get our top target or Dallas overpays for their second or third target.
I'm not sure you can sign Koufus, Stuckey and Omri in 14-15, Koufus might command big bucks... but if we can do it it's pretty nice.

suspect they won't have to match just up their offer about 2 milWell, they said the Vladfather was going to make him an offer he could not refuse.
If nothing else if Dallas matches we will have nicely ****ed over a WC rival.
Which I don' think they will. (They want either DJ or Hibbert)I

We have no Bird rights on him, so it's not possible (was on a 1 year contract)Omit would be signed after we use up the cap.

Everyone is overpaying for everyone so this is no different. The only thing that worries me about this is that it turns into Carl Landry x10 if his injury turns him into a shell of his former self.
Signing him helps our starting lineup but hurts our bench as far as having the ability to afford more free agents. As we saw last year, it takes more than just a good performing starting lineup to win.
The problem is not the 16 mil, if it's fully guaranteed 4 years with no team option- you are taking a huge bet, and if you miss you are basically the Nets- only in the loaded west...I would do it. I wouldn't be happy about 16 per year, but that deal looks less crazy when the cap is 90m next year, and even higher the following year. The days of good role players getting 12-15 million are upon us.
None, but as long as there's a chance you are still in the game, and I'm not sure we can afford to lose this (or even admit to it...)
BTW Carmichael Dave thinks is going to the Mavs and just tweeted:
Carmichael Dave @CarmichaelDave
DUN DUNN DUNNNNNN
After someone tweeted Parsons now followes Matthews...
Well that's happening all over the league right now. DeMarre Carrol earns more than Steph Curry now. Just a crossover moment between tow different leaguewide salary plateuas.
I'll like your post on this one, because I deserve it...Dude you misinterpret negatively anything you can get your eyes on.
