Keegan’s getting the record by the end of the first quarter in the next game lol
Kiddo was hoping he'd wait until Friday, I was hoping I'd see it Wednesday.Keegan’s getting the record by the end of the first quarter in the next game lol
Yeah but somehow the fact he is off-ball and has done it with 65 less shots than Dame and 100 less than Spida is to be held against him. Because reasons.Keegan doing this as an off-ball player as opposed to Spida and Dame, who are definitely not that, is insane.
I'm an Iowa fan and it's been a while since we had a guy stick in the league. That's good right?
Calling it now: Keegan will grow to be our clear #3 and a borderline allstar by mid next year. Will be in the running for MIP. His rate of improvement is unreal - and concerns about defense are being rapidly put to rest. Ceiling is a poor man's durant/more athletic Reggie Miller. Mike Brown seems to be an ideal coach for him.
He will be an allstar within four years. Prepare for this post to be screenshotted later.

It won't last long but it will probably be in the +20-30 range of the previous marks with the guys trailing actually coming into the league between Spida and Keegs. So it may stand for ~5 years and the person who breaks it may wind up being a total chucker and get criticized for going after the record instead of being a team player. So it's going to be fun when that happens, that's for sure. Especially on this forum I bet the mods can't waitHe’s done it in less games too.
Keegan’s shot volume is very close to Dame’s, while Donovan had a higher shot volume.
But with how the game has been changing over the past decade, it’s no surprise. Had Dame come into the league 5 or 6 years later, he’d probably have set the bar really high. Same for Curry.
With seemingly every player having a green light to shoot an open three, Keegan’s soon-to-be-record probably won’t last real long. That said, it also probably won’t be broken by a stretch 4 or even a SF either.
Honestly, the shooting prowess I’ve seen from Keegan this season is what I expected from Peja when he first came over to play with the KINGS, considering the kid hit 100/115 three’s during a practice session and his shooting ability was already very hyped up. It took Peja a bit to adjust to the NBA game, though.
If Keegan is already this efficient as a rookie, I can’t wait to see what happens as he further develops and learns the NBA game and, of course, builds up more strength.
Yup, not been an NBA factory over the years. I wonder where Devries' dad ends up as a coach. I would think he'll get offers to move up if Drake has any more success. Seems more likely than when he was hired now that Loyola is gone from the Missouri Valley Conference (and obviously with no more Creighton/Wichita in the conference).what’s the running list of Iowans in the NBA right now? Only a handful
HB
Keegan
Mcbuckets
Aj Green
Joe Wieskamp
List will grow in the next couple years with
Kris
Omaha Billiew
Tucker Devries

That whole thread by Kenyon was really interesting. He points to Khris Middleton for Keegan, and I think Keegan himself has referenced Middleton before too. Kenyon also says that he's got to keep it real and admits that Keegan isn't a generational talent, but he has generational work ethic. We had to endure 4 years of Dadley so we could get to fully appreciate the grace of Kenyon Murray lol
We're apparently a women's basketball state now. I think they need to give Caitlin Clark a look in summer league. We've had some guys in the NBA over the years but they usually leave the state for college. Before HB and Doug McDermott it was Nick Collision, Kirk Hinrich, then Kyle Korver.Which is funny because it just FEELS like a basketball state, no? I mean it's flat. The whole state is basically a basketball court.
Couple thoughts, I don't like the Khris Middleton comparisons that much, but I think it could be Keegan's realistic ceiling... but it would be nice to aim a little higher.. maybe I'm not giving enough credit to Middleton, but he was the Bucks' 3rd/4th best player on their championship team and was never really considered one of the top wings in the league.

Also fun fact, Keegan grew up minutes from the backdrop of many of Grant woods famous paintings and in the same town as Aston Kutcher, Elijah Wood and Ron Livingston ( Office space)
And Paul Engle and Adrian Arrington.
