Any questions?
He has been good. As advertised. Rotations and effort were what they should be if Brown wants to start Huerter. How long can he get away with it?

He's a lesson in good basketball common sense and how playing to your strengths creates flow and confidence. He's not going to allow the analytics nerds to change a play style that is consistently proven for him.
Why are we calling him Deebo?

yes he went from 26 points in his debut to 23 for gms 2 & 3 to a mere 20 last night. my projections show he'll be scoreless by December. Worst S&T EVAR!!! KANGZZZZ!!! SHOULD HAVE GONE TO GOLDEN STATE OR LAKERS!
It's a bit weird as there's a wide receiver of that name for the local-est NFL franchise and it mixes me up. I have no idea if DDR actually has ever gone by Deebo or not.
It seems the rest of the roster takes note and starts shooting pull-up midrange jumpers at high clips, despite their poor shooting from deep.
Playing against lottery teams was our Achilles' heel last season. The last two games were different, that is how you handle lottery teams, Deebo makes them easy. What a relief, but we still need a solid length at the 4 for the ultimate prize.
What does the starting lineup look like, if they trade for solid length at the 4? Is he likely coming off the bench?
The only way to add length to the starting lineup (beyond a major shakeup trade that reshapes the team) would be to replace Huerter or Murray as starters.
I don't think the Kings have the assets to trade for a PF better than Keegan, and replacing Huerter would mean playing DeRozan at the 2 which he hasn't done for years and which I firmly believe would make him more of a liability on defense. And if the PF you bring in doesn't shoot from outside at a 38% or above clip, it also makes the existing spacing worse.
Again, barring a major trade, I think the Kings don't have a lot of flexibility with their starting 5. But the bench could defintely do with more scoring and length.

Do you think the starting lineup is better defensively with Huerter... vs Derozan and Murray as your 2-3 + a new defensively capable 4 ?
Murray is flexible enough to guard 2's, if the matchup seems to be a problem
The early returns on the starting 5 are incredibly promising. Of all 5 man units with at least 50 minutes this year, our group has the best DEF Rtg at 97.7 and the 2nd best Net Rtg at 24.0, only trailing Boston at 27.2. For reference, 3rd are the Rockets at 14.5 NET.
So I'm not sure why we'd want to change anything any time soon. Starters are dominating
By the dead-line, they look to make a trade if they don't believe the current roster is a contender. A very similar position to what they were in after losing the first round series two seasons ago, after having a very good offensive regular season
No, but I think the offense is likely much worse.
I mean, our starting 5 has the best defensive 5 man unit in basketball right now. Very unlikely that holds, but shows we can be capable of playing great defense, even without Keon on the floor
Not sure that would be the case. Derozan dominates 2's when they end up on him and Murray has advantages against 3's that he doesn't against 4's.
But if the PF you bring in can't also space the floor well in addition to defending, the spacing is much worse. It's very, very early on in the season, but DFS is currently shooting around 25% from three.
