Kevin Martin

Now is our chance to get a PF. We can give up Peja and one of our PF and get a stud and if we want a young one we can take a bad contract in return i.e. Peja and Reef(or KT) for Bosh and Rose Hell we will throw in Corlis for a 2nd round pick as well. GP has all the tradable pieces and some young talent let capatilize and get back to our elite status next season.

Put Corliss on 5 and You get = hobbit ball
unfortuantly... but if Miller or at worse Skinner are on the 5 then a slightly tall Martin at the 3 will help from keeping the total number of palyers out sized down to 2 or 3 at worst.

Don't think for a min you can have 2 great games and then RA not play you again. Ask Ronnie Price I like Price so much better than Hart. there is yet another talented tradable piece. GP has alot to work with having good players at low salaries i.e. Peja and Reef and can couple those with other high salaries KT, Hart, Corlis

Confidence being a key word here -- for most of the past season and a half Kevin has wandered around out there like Peja's less mentally tough younger brother. These last couple of game sit though it looks like he may finally have put that baby boy in the corner stuff away before it strangled his career. Now he is just out there playing like he belongs, and proving he does. Amazing how much of the game is really from the shoulders up.

There will be several adjustments ahead, the first when teams start to gameplan for him, the next when his role changes again. But a stretch like this can be a career maker for a player.
Hate to burst your bubble bricklayer, but, you should really look into kevins college career. Not the N.B.A. by a long shot, but, he spent most of his career at western carolina being double and sometimes triple teamed. I have a tape you need to watch. Against the razorbacks double teamed from begining to end and dumped in 46. The kid has heart, and soon, alot of people will have to admit he has game. WTG NEPHEW. Still needs much improvement, but, he is finally on his way.

I think Bricklayer is representative of a lot of fans who didn't know anything about Kevin. They've watched and they're starting to see what those of you who've followed his career have believed all along.

My feeling is that it's all good. If even fans like Brickie, who is one of the most critical, can say that Kevin is "... just out there playing like he belongs, and proving he does" then it's a good thing.

I think we're all happy about his performance tonight, and THAT's the main thing!

:D

He's been critiqued, but no one is exempt from that, no matter how long in the league or how good. And all players have to earn respect all over again at each level. But, I think most Kings fans have been rooting for Kevin to do well ever since the Kings called his name at the draft. And we are certainly rooting for more nights like tonight.:D

I guess my biggest fault is trying to convince people he belongs and deserves to be where he is. I should probably hush up and let him prove it on the court. That is so hard to do though being this close to the kid. But I am trying. And, are we really calling him a steak sauce now? :)

Just to clarify - that's A-ONE, like the sauce. ;)

:( I kind of liked the idea of it being "AL". Good nickname.

I still like The Flying Platypus, however. Brick was really onto something with that one.

It happened in CHAT. He made another steal and a typo changed it to steak. Kevin with another steak!!! And what do you put on steak? A1 sauce!!!

;)

I think you have every right to be very proud of Kevin. He's getting out there and he's proving that it's where he deserves to be. I actually think this game tonight might have been pivotal. And I'm awfully, awfully glad I was able to watch it ... and share it via the PBP.

Gerald Wallace was mentioned. He was certainly a Sacramento fan-favorite, but IMO he was never as talanted as Kevin Martin. For a few minutes tonight, Kevin looked like Jorden or Bryant. What will happen around here if he can string together a dozen games like these last two? What if he makes a habit of flying reverse layups and near-orbit ally-oops? Ouch.

Another good thing may be been happening with all the bench play going on. The Kings have been turning over the ball too much this year, and not just the new guys. So, when the starters and bench guys become more familiar with one another under the stress of regular season competition, unforced turnovers should become less frequent, maybe rare. We are seeing better ball handling lately and more continuous ball movement. The Kings may close-out the season pretty well if this keeps up.

Well now, I wouldn't say that...

That's right, and I have it on "good authority" that someone with influence has signed off on the new nickname. So, it's official.

So there. :p

I hate to be negative but think Kevin or Francisco are terrible. Any team relying on either of these 2 to play more than 10 minutes a game isn't going anywhere.

It's nice that Kevin had a decent game against a horrific Celtics team, but I don't really think it means much.

Now that's the funniest thing I've read all night. How long have you been living in that cave?

EDIT: On second thought, feel free to continue to not believe that Martin is any good. You can be the designated exception that proves the rule.

Don't be too surprised if all of your posts are ignored.

Why? One good game makes him an allstar?

Sorry I forgot, let's look at his incredible stats

Fg% - .411
3pt% - .216

I mean honestly Quickdog, do you really think Kevin Martin is the future of the Kings?
