If I was starting a pick-up game on my playground and I could have ANY current Kings player in uniform I'd take Johnny Salmons. He's effortless, he lets the game come to him, he's versatile, he plays solid defense, he's always cool, calm and collected. He's a very good basketball player!
When Kevin returns, which one of these guys do you trade?

There's no way you are going to be able to, in any long term fashion, convince a guy playing at Salmons' level to return to the bench.

Who can opt out?The one that has the highest value he's had in about 3 years, and also the same one that can opt out of his contract at the end of the year.

Heh, I knew that but post read like Kevin or John could. Thought I had been napping and missed something.Artest. And I agree, Ron should be the one to go. Start fresh.

Gary said:Trade Artest and let Salmons start at SF. I know he might be a bit small at that position, but he does play some solid BBall.
... and Brad Miller is this team's MVP so far.
...and no one want's his $24 million left on his contract after this year, either...so we're stuck with him, from how I see it.
If this were to transpire, I'd definitely feel better about the Salmons acquisition.Trade Artest and let Salmons start at SF. I know he might be a bit small at that position, but he does play some solid BBall.

Especially if it meant we wound up with a guy like David Lee. Not that he's the one piece that makes us a contender, but that would make us a better team, I think. If this were to transpire, I'd definitely feel better about the Salmons acquisition.
