Since he's on the market should the KINGS give the former number 8 pick a chance to make the team?

We can use him off the bench as a backup SF with Greene playing the SG.. Im just throwing it out there.

Very athletic young man with no skill set. He doesn't handle the ball well. He doesn't shoot the ball well. He doesn't pass the ball well. And we don't need another SF. Let me repeat that for you since you keep proposing signing SF's. WE don't need another SF.

He still has a lot of potential and he is probably worth a gamble. But it's not a good match. Alexander needs PT and the Kings just need a body to play maybe 10 mins every three games. For his sake, I hope he lands in a team like Minnesotta who can use a young backup SF.

.

I think he was the most overrated prospect to come out in years. He had one good year in college and it really wasn't anything to write home about. 17 ppg 6 rpg on 46% shooting as a 21 year old. No 3 point ability. I didn't get it then, and after two years firmly suggesting that he has no place in the NBA, I definitely don't get it now.

If a team could play him in the same role he performed and WV - high post, center of the floor - he could do ok. Problem is, every team already has guys better than him so he'd just clog up space, and he isn't a role player at all.

I mean, maybe he could be ok in that role since that's what got him that squinch of success in college but even then I doubt it. He's 6'8 220lb...Go down the list of teams and tell me which starting SF's in the whole league he is going to post up. There's not a long list of players who play as post up 3's because the SF position is generally filled with long, strong, athletic tough guys. 6'8' 220 is the average, not the exception. So even if some team was committed to accentuating his strengths I think he's SOL.

i liked alexander in west virginia and thought he wouldve been a good prospect but shouldnt have been drafted so high.
He doesnt do anything that well but has loads of athletic ability. I think some injuries really halted some possible progress. It's hard to say he could become a good player, he left WVU after three years and is probably around 23/24 which is not old by any means but is old enough to not be considered a young project anymore.

so- no i wouldnt want him here, we have better sf's who are younger and further along

Hell no....

he's a terrible player... yeah he's athletic... but a sorry basketball player...

I will admit to liking Alexander coming out of college for his potential. He was relatively new to the game of basketball so I was willing to give him some slack. But like a lot of very athletic guys, he's developed very little since being drafted. To my mind that doesnt bode well for his future. There's no denying that he can jump out of the building, but thats not enough in the NBA.

This is how I feel about Paul George...

Sounds like a tall Slamson.

I liked his potenial coming out of college, but knew he would need to develop his overall skills. So far he seems to have made no progress in this area, so I say "no" to bringing him here.

It is very possible that Paul George ends up not being sucessful in the NBA, but he is a much more skilled player coming out of college than Alexander was IMO. The questions about George are how hard is he willing to work on his game. For someone who shows so much talent, he rarely took over a game for Fresno State.

Why would you want to bring in a not-so-good SF when we're set at SF and what we need now is another shooting guard or a back-up point guard?

How old are you?:D

I swear no one is reading what I wrote, "...FORMER NUMBER 8 PICK A CHANCE TO MAKE THE TEAM... GREENE PLAYING THE SG... JUST THROWING IT OUT THERE." I know, reading and understanding that someone is just starting conversation is hard for people, not going to hold it against you.

I'm not saying the Kings should give him a contract I'm saying have him join the Summer League team, have him come in for a tryout to see if he's even worth it to give a change to make the team. I'm not a a huge fan of his but the kid's got have something to offer.

Oh yea, I'm 31
