[Game] Jazz @ Kings - 11/24/12

so the starters busted their behinds building this lead, lets see if the bench can hang on because we wont see Reke, and Salmons or JT when he goes out.

I didnt see a bad call.... first cousins needlessly chicken winged kanter on the original foul... then he slapped the ball out of kanters hands after the play.. then he like a buffoon argued it some more

After Cousins met Kanters bump the second time is when the T was called. It should have just been called a foul, if anything.

I thought the first tech was garbage. If the offense is going to get the continuation rule on a foul then the defense should be able to defend through the play, too. If Cousins hit him, sure, give him the tech, but it was a clean swipe.

Cousins just needs to learn to move on, Rarely does tyreke argue, and when he does he doesnt try to show up the refs with facial expressions and pouting, that is what pisses the refs off.

Reke doesn't get the treatment from the Refs that Cousins does. Pretty much nobody in the league does.

That technical foul was made up to target Cousins. There was nothing to T up there. It was straight up encroachment on the game by the refs. You can't just sit there quietly and take it. There needs to be a message from the Kings talking about what the refs are doing. It needs to be a public discussion. I'm just sick of it.

This isn't excusing Cousins. It's holding the refs accountable.

i agree he is being targeted and it is wrong, but the refs are human, the human element is there, when your being shown up on every call you remember it, you might not target the player, but sure dont forget.

i disagree on the fact that the kings should address it with anyone but cousins, if he keeps a stright face hands the ball to the ref and runs to the other side of the court to play D or just walk away it will solve everything than trying to make it a discussion etc.

Reke or other players dont get it because they know a call will never be reversed. no need to throw a tantrom, just ask for an explanation and nod and walk away. really simple.

That's not how I saw it. Cousins fouled Kanter (yes, there was scrub going on between the two all through play). Then with the play officially stopped he slapped ball away from Kanters hand. TECH #1 Then he argued that one and ref let him have his say - but then went too far. TECH #2 Head to the showers and cool off - Mr Incorrigible!

The Refs show up the game all the time. Having emotions is not "showing up the refs". It's only the backwards mentality of the NBA that states that.

The NFL holds its refs accountable and you know what? Things get fixed. The NFL press talks about ref issues. Things get held accountable. It's not great with the refs in the NFL. They screw up, but it gets talked about.

The NBA has way more of an issue with refs, but IT DOES NOT GET TALKED ABOUT. The press sits there with their tail between their legs.

There is this really messed up idea that you just keep quiet and take it. That's not how things work. Change is only made by people speaking up. Nobody speaks up about the refs in the NBA and consequentially the league has some of the worst officiating in American sports.

"A call will never be reversed" is not the issue. Nobody complains thinking that the call will be reversed. They complain because the refs are a problem and it needs attention drawn to it.

NFL officiating and NBA officiating are two totally different animals. if they discussed every missed call the discussion would never end.

I never said people complain to get a call reversed, but theres no need to blow up thinking it will, i was simply citing reke's more civilized way of doing it rather than Cuz's 5 year old way of doing it. if cuz did it more like him then he would, in due time, shed that reputation.

This is the appropriate time for Reke to pound the ball 'cause it keeps control of the team. Compare last night to tonight. I hope Smart is trainable.

You said "a call will never be reversed". That either means people complain to get the call reversed or it means absolutely nothing. Which is it? It's a statement that means absolutely nothing. It's a phrase passed around by schmucks. Don't repeat it.

And NBA officiating and NFL officiating are different, but not so vastly different to not be compared, especially when it comes to how they are discussed and viewed. If you think the discussion would never end if they talked about every missed call in the NBA then you are identifying a big problem. How does it get to be such a big problem? Because it's never talked about. There is no explanation for the technical foul on Cousins. Whatever was said as explanation was bull****. If Cousins accepts the non-answer and then petitions the NBA or sends a complaint then nothing will happen. If he approaches the press with it then they'll try to find excuses or say he should say nothing. You see the pattern? The problem? There's just too much of that stuff in the NBA. You don't just accept continuous lies. It only leads to the fustercluck the NBA is in.
