Good trade for both teams. JT would instantly be the biggest player on the Celtics and could help KG fight for some rebounds. Jeff Green could slide right into the small forward spot for the kings. He is shooting right at 37% from 3 which is decent and has shown that he can guard small forwards.

After this trade Run out this starting 5:

Pg: Evans
Sg:Salmons
Sf: Green
Pf: Robinson
C: Cousins

Definetly would have to pick up some more size since Robinson and Hayes are undersized but i like what this team could do Defensively. Evans, salmons and Green could switch everything and Green and Robinson could swith everything. I think Green is a very good player, Not gonna be a superstar but he can definetly be a piece of the puzzle and right now The only for sure pieces we have are Evans and Cousins.

I would love to him Green but yeah Thomas Robinson start is a joke hes been horrible all year and has no idea what hes doing out there most of the time.

JG is gettin paid like a shining star 9m/year while playing like a bench player. rather keep our size advantage with JT gettin paid 5m/yr

Hmmm, I think I'll pass on this one, and I have always liked Green. But trading your starting PF who happens to be 6'11" for a stretch four thats 6'8" is a bad idea. I know a lot of people are in love with stretch fours, but I'm not, and Green's problem is that he's yet to define a position. I'm sure JT would love the trade. He'd be closer to home and on a championship contender. But no thanks!

I agree although I think Green is more of a natural SF as opposed to a stretch 4. The only reason he was a stretch 4 in OKC was because KD is a superstar who wasn't coming off the bench or playing the stretch 4 himself. Green would be the SF here but to sacrifice JT for him would be a stretch in and of itself.

If they could be convinced to take a classy defensive minded veteran...who just also happens to be a 6'6" stub, I'd listen, although it would leave us compeltely hopeless at backup center unless Petrie made another move.

chuckwagon in a mean green uni? all i want for xmas...

For several years i really wanted Josh Smith on this team. With the way we are constructed now that would be a disaster. Other names being floated around are Jose Calderon, Andre Bargnani, Pau Gasol, Paul Milsap and Al Jefferson.... Don't know if anybody can make us better.

No single trade will make us better unless its Lebron of course. Our problems are above the player level. This is why high draft picks the last 5+ years haven't turned into wins just like every trade we make doesn't turn into wins. With the right leadership you can take average nba players and have them play in the upper half of the league. Our leadership can't take talented nba players and have them play above 25 in the league.

JT is our most consistant performer as far as playing hard and putting up certain numbers a night and if we ever get to the point that we can worry about it, having someone you can say he will put up these numbers in these minutes every night and he will leave it out on the floor is valuable. And hopefully he will become our 3rd big in a few years if our pick works out but right now he is the last role player I would trade.

It might also be said that JT has steadily improved since being a King and seems to be one of the few players to be unaffected by inadequate coaching. This latter trait unfortunately is extremely important for us.

JT is our starting big that can play PF or C if needed, one of our most consistent players this year, and is on a very cheap contract. Jeff Green is a bench player, being paid over 8 million, and that 37% 3pt shooting is based off of 23 games. Take a look at his percentage in the past. If you take out this season he's in the low 30s. So you actually want to trade for a 6'9 defensive sf that shoots about 44% fg and low 30% 3pt. Congratulations, you are trading JT for james johnson. Except you are trading a good big on a good contract for a $8-9 million x 4 years bench player, whereas petrie traded a 2nd rounder for a $2-3 million x 1 year bench player that is doing the same thing statwise. I'll pass on this trade, which by the way can't be done due to contracts not matching and since green just signed this year he cant be traded until mid january.

One minor correction -- I think it might have been Dec 15th for the limit before you can trade guys. Also not sure how that works with Boston given that he was kinda their player.

my bad. i just went off the info from espn's trade machine which stated january 15th or 3 months from when he signed whichever is later. either way its a bad trade if it was done today or a month from now
