Knicks Waive Jalen Rose

NEW YORK, October 30, 2006 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Isiah Thomas announced today that the team has waived guard/forward Jalen Rose. In four preseason games, the 12-year NBA veteran averaged 10.5 minutes. The roster stands at 14.

Another expensive old-ish Knick waived.

With Cisco not developing...

I'm totally kidding.

Wish we could have briefly borrowed Isiah a week or two ago, and let him waive some of our expensive deadweight for us.

What are you talking about? I'm sure we can get Channing Frye for Potapenko from Isaiah, straight up. He's always up for something kooky like this. :)

just out of curiosity, does this mean that Mr. Rose is out the nearly $17 million he was scheduled to make this year?

it will be interesting to see if he lands somewhere with another team, or if he ends up like Latrell because he wants too much money to play. I'm having trouble coming up with a team right off the top of my head that is desperately in need of a SF.

No the contract is guaranteed, so Jalen's $17 mil is still coming. Actually been impressed with Zeke starting to clean house of all the old, soft debris laying around. Also I think underscores the new KNick philosophy of no nlonger trading enders for more bad long term contracts -- they'd ratehr waive them instead. So, clears up a potential cancer, helps focus their rotation, and unless I am thinking of a different sport, might leave ipen the possibility for the Knicks to have a little bit of that salary picked up by whcihever team grabs Jalen for a rental. Cleveland maybe? To L.A. to play the point? Denver for OG help?

he was making too much money, it didnt have to do with talent, well i guess it has to do with not enough talent for the price they were paying, but hes well worth the league minimum, id definitley like to see him getting minutes over garcia
