1st Preseason casualty Cyril Awere Waived

Hmmmm strange that Hamady Ndiaye did not show up on Kings.com Roster and did not see him in first pre-season game either?

Maybe a hint on who is next?

coach made it sound like they kind of just brought him in as a big man to compete with our big men in training camp/practices

I don't know. The thing is that we don't have the best frontcourt depth we've ever had. Cousins/Thompson/Robinson/Hayes is fine until someone gets injured, at which point it becomes really thin. Sure, we can go small and shove Outlaw or JJ into the 4 spot, but with only Cuz and JT having the size to contend with the bigger centers in the league a guy like N'Diaye would be a decent insurance policy.

The way I imagine it, Willie Reed is going to be cut, Tony Mitchell is fighting to take Honeycutt's roster spot away from him, and N'Diaye is fighting Petrie's preference to have 14 players rather than a full 15.

Going in, if I had to take a guess which big man had the best chance of making the roster, it would be Reed. Lets not forget that he was a top 20 highschool player coming into college, and only a strange situation of being accused of involvement in a rape case, in which the charges were dropped against him, screwed up his career. Had he stayed in school, there's a good chance he might have been a 1st round draft pick. However, I still think that Mitchell has the best shot of making the team, unless they decide to cut Honeycutt and sign two players.
