Hello all....i try to remain a quiet observer around here...

realize things are a bit fragile right now, but hang in there....its still early...

the pacers are definitely having their ups and downs as well...

im curious....what would the response be to a stephen jackson and danny granger for peja trade be???

i know pacer fans would probably crucify me for even mentioning trading granger....and most would probably not be interested because of it...but im curious what the response is here....

lol...kinda figured that might be the reponse from some...not all, but some...

now...would u do it if it was for jackson and fred jones instead of granger???

No, no I hope Petrie wouldn't and I doubt he would pull the trigger on the first deal. If Peja goes I hope its with someone else and for a superstar level player. If we trade him for Granger, I hope they dump most of our high payed players because their prime would be wasted.

I do like Granger however. Would certainly think about the first deal.

I would say no to Fred Jones but definately yes to the Granger deal. That kid is goodness! Stephen Jackson isn't bad either.

To the first deal: HECK YEAH. I was hoping sacto could draft him cuz he was slipping but we couldn't. Maybe Petrie could get Larry on the phone NOW? Who would play SG for indy though? Artest or Peja?

If GP has any concious at all, and if any marbles are still there he will package Pedja and one of craptacular contracts that he received in Webber trade for expiring contract or minor talent just in order to move us along.

Anyone who thinks that we are getting fair value in return for any of our players now, is sadly mistaken. We're currently showcasing why none of our players is a real star. Unless, Zeke has some talent to trade of course.

I'd do that, yep. I love Granger, and have always liked 'Jack.

Not Jackson/FJ though. I like them both, but not that much, and don't think Petrie would do that.

Peja is no superstar. Peja friggin sucks. I can't stand him. I can't believe we let Webber go instead of Peja. Unfreakingbelievable.

Every time I see him on the court I get angry. How could a player have gotten so terrible so fast? We should have traded him in Summer 2004 while his value was at its peak. We could have had him for Artest.

PG: Bibby
SG: Bonzi? The Maloofs stop sucking and let Petrie go hard after Hughes or Redd?
SF: Artest
PF: Webber, who is playing like the Webber of old
C: Miller

That starting 5 would be amazing.

Our team is terrible. The Maloofs have handcuffed Petrie and now we suck. Ever-increasing ticket sales, decreased payroll and product, ridiculous arena demands...the Kings are gone. I bet they announce before the end of the season.

God, I hate the Maloofs. And I hate Peja.

i cant tell...is that a yes??? or no....

haha, in all honesty, i'm sure he'd be good in a new place. he needs a change of scenery. it's too bad management didnt trade him when he asked, so they could keep webber. i understand the thought process at the time, and i thought it was the right one. but webber is now healthy and playing great ball, and peja is in the midst of a long and deep slump. i wish him well (i don't actually hate him, he just drives me insane), but i hope they move him fast.

Peja will probably thrive if he lucks into a trade on a contending team. If aligned with average players he will tread in a pool of mediocrity as he does now.

IMO we could not get Devaen George (who I despise) for Peja right now. He is a dead commodity. It's gonna cost us Bibby to get anyone. I still think he has value for his clutch ability - something Peja never had.

right now i'm ready to trade peja for a slice of pecan pie

Not a big fan of the pecan but maybe if they threw in a couple of slices of apple we could talk.

I'm with you though.....addition by subtraction at this point. If this is the "core" of the team then we are in trouble.

As others have mentioned, I don't think Jackson and Jones get it done. I think Jackson has the size to step in at the starting SF spot, but Granger would be the key to the deal, imho. With Bonzi playing as well as he has, Jones is an unnecessary commodity (although he's better than any other SG the Kings have coming off the bench right now).

Jackson and Granger? Yeah, I do that. Both teams might benefit. Indiana gets the third leg of a deadly trio, and we get a tough, servicable Peja replacement in the short term (Jackson) and an even tougher and perhaps even starbound replacement in the long term (Granger). One of the more attractive offers I've seen.

the and Fred Jones though = pass. If we trade Peja I either want a star in return, or a young stud with star potential. Not just a couple of pretty good players.

Could Bonzi step in as a full time 3 if we were to pull a trade off like this?

I think he could...

If we did it, there would no real need -- Jackson can play the three, and that's liekly Granger's position. Garcia obviously too. Bonzi could swing over, but everybody would be a swingman besides Granger, who is a 3 that can play 4.

hell yeah i'd do that trade... get some "thug" defensive minded players in sacto... that'd be great

Peja+Corliss for Jackson, Granger and Pollard

I think it's better than Peja for Jackson and Granger, but I don't know if it's a good trade. I'd do that only if it's imposible we keep Peja next season.

It's funny how fickle people on this board are. Peja is shooting terribly now, but I'm not quite sure if he's mired in a deep, long slump. I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks out for 30+ in one of the next few games.

In the six games before he hurt his finger, his stats were:

24.2 ppg
5.8 rpg
3.3 apg
51% fg
47% 3pt

He was again beginning to play like 2003-2004 MVP candidate Peja. It's a long season and he'll be back soon.

Indiana would never do it. Jackson is worth far more to the Pacers than what Peja is worth to the Kings right now, at this stage of the season. Jackson has a spine and has toughness...If this trade ever did happen, I would have to say that Petrie pulled off a great GREAT deal!

Ooh, putting Corliss in this deal REALLY sweetened it for Indiana.*L* Still a lopsided deal for the Kings, Indiana would never do it.

they probably wouldnt do it...but it wouldnt have anything to do with jackson and everything to do with granger....granger is gonna be a stud...

and they definitely wouldnt do it with pollard and corliss....that sweetens it even more for sac as they dump salary for an expiring...

Trade Peja for the guy that made the half-court shot and won the new car at yesterday's game against the Heat.

Peja has zero fouls in the game against the Heat, zero points in the 4th quarter. The guy is the softest player in the league and he chokes in crunchtime (i.e. the airball he threw at the end of the game). Bench him and start Kenny Thomas.

Or what about this lineup?

Bibby
Cat
Artest
Webber
Miller

That's money.

And yes, I would do the first deal.

we're missing 1 piece.

bibby
garcia
bonzi
kg
miller

that lineup would be killer.

i have enough faith to start garcia at shooting guard. he's developing much faster than kevin martin. bonzi is much tougher than. peja has a strong weakness, it's called dribbling. bringing in KG would be as good if not better than a healthy webber. brad miller is better than vlade. this squad would be better than the 02' team.
