man I could do so much better..
Ah, come on hot babe draft chief.
Although, you may have a point. Wasn't it last time it went that way she got on the board here herself. We sure don't want that again.
It fails on both the class and relevance levels, and in such circumstances is normally used as a weapon to demean and diminish.
Yes, and there's nothing else in this thread besides my looks comment that's meant to demean or diminish the fine reporter.
I actually quite thought that to be the point of the entire thread.

And clever young man that you are, you will therefore have instantly noticed that I did not warn people not to say anything bad about her. I warned them not to engage in cheap shots about her looks.
Her looks are part of her job.
Are Grant Napear's looks also part of his job?
Absolutely, and that's one of the reasons that he's not so popular. It's not so much if somebody has the "classic" looks or not, it's also a lot about how they pull it off. For example, I think everybody would agree that Jerry Reynolds isn't exactly Brad Pitt, but he pulls it off because he has a good funny personality that fits his looks. Grant on the other hand has no personality and his looks reflect that. He never has had any personality. I remember way back when he was starting out with Channel 31 and he had this weird manufactured laugh that they obviously told him to get rid of. He still busts out with it a little bit now and then but he's controlled it pretty well. Grant isn't a very graceful guy. He's a manufactured personality and I'm really not a fan of his at all.
Gosh, I never would have guessed that your not a fan of Grants. Unfortuantely for you, he happens to have one of the highest rated talk shows in northern california. I will admit, that he's not everyone's cup of tea, but, growing up in a big city myself where the talk show hosts are a little more aggressive and brash, I happen to like him.
To say that he has no personality makes me wonder if you ever listen to him. You may not like his personality, but he certainly has one. Grant is a typical east coast type radio personality. If you've ever listened to Mike and the mad dog you would understand.
That someone would not like Grant is hardly news -- he's a tool. On the other hand that somebody would try to claim that not liking Grant had anything to do with his looks is just chuckleworthy.
This is pretty much my feelings about "courtside reporters." It's even worse in places like LA where they go off to interview some celebrity in the stands while the game is going on. (We are not the only ones with inane court side reports/reporters) Makes me irritable.Who cares really.
Who needs a courtside reporter anyway.
Are Grant Napear's looks also part of his job?
Kozimor used to do this stuff. I didn't mind it as much, becasue he knew what he was talking about and came across as personable. Still wouldn't miss this stuff if they eliminated it.There are tons of former players out there who could do a very good job at courtside/color reporting. Why they insist on bringing in people like Angela Tsai boggles my mind.

And, in conclusion, I think Spike just won the thread.
