Ilyasova - dirty play or accidental? (split from game thread)

What was it?

I have kind of noticed a trend here. Everybody who was against the Tyreke drafting and has taken subtle digs at him all season long don't think it was intentional. The rest of Kings Nation thinks it was intentional.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yeah the first part is definitely correct. Not everyone thinks the whole play was intentional though, but I think anyone that isn't biased would say that the second part of the play was definitely not a basketball play and that it was intentional.

I think the whole thing was intentional. I said that at the time it happened. Ilyasova is nothing but a scrub and a thug. They needed Tyreke out of the game to win. They are fighting for a playoff spot. Tyreke beat them in their own house last time. It was intentional, and if the league had any balls whatsoever, they would be fining Ilyasova Monday morning EARLY and maybe even a suspension. It was a clear out Elbow with a forearm shiver plain and simple. It looked dirty live, it looked dirty on the replay, and it looked dirty in slow motion. Ilyasova also tried to connect on Nocconi during a rebound later in the game. He was swinging those elbows for the fences!! He was out to connect with those elbows! That kind of dirty play will get people hurt. No call for that sort of play in basketball whatsoever! It was a BS foul and the league should come down hard on him with a fine AND a suspension. He did it more that once during the game, only connecting on one. What is he, doing an MMA fight in the middle of an NBA Basketball game? What a LOAD of BS !! I think it was a dirty play all the way by a Talentless THUG who is in there to knock people around, foul people, and get rebounds. Dude is a THUG!

Can we sign Herb Pope to a 10 day contract next time we play the Bucks? :p

Elbow is indeterminative. Don't see how you can question the forearm follow though. Nice n' cheap. I do so hope Tryeke turns out to be one of those long memoried types.

Naw I voted that the first part of it wasn't intentional, but when you watch it from the baseline you can see when he notices it's Tyreke he throws the shiver. And he is trying to hurt him. Just sad really that they can't play with any kind of pride and be clean about it. From the moment Jennings tweeted you could kind of sense that they were here to leave an impression, and not a good one....

Can't believe this thread was made.. I didn't think it was intentional, and when I watched it again I didn't think it was even close to being intentional.

^^^^

I thought he was trying to put his arm on Tyrekes shoulder so he wouldn't fall. Ive done that before.... But I got hurt more on the fall doing that

I saw it from a different angle than that highlight showed. I saw it from a camera on the baseline where Ilyosova looked in Tyreke's direction before throwing the elbow. He also yelled when throwing the elbow, IMO, to make a point. It was dirty. Didn't think so at first, but it was.

That highlight only shows one angle. Last night on nbatv they showed it from 2 other angles, and a few seconds before this highlight started. You can't see Ilyosova's eyes in this one, or what he was looking at a few seconds before throwing the elbow. That really is not the best clip to judge if it was dirty or not.

EXACTLY. He looked at Tyreke's head, and then gave it a forearm shiver. End of story.

It was obvious to me that the second part was intentional. I hope that Tyreke gets better soon. I love watching him play....

The second part was definitely intentional. Dude looks right at Tyreke and follows through on his face. I missed the game but seen the highlights. You don't mess with the franchise bro, I can't wait until the day this scrub comes back to Sacramento. Sick Brockman on this tool bag.

It's been 3 days. No fines or suspensions. In fact, I dont recall anyone in the Kings organization claiming any wrong doing either.

I just imagine the preceeding timeout went as follows:

[Ilyasova is about to face Tyreke in the fourth quarter]
Scott Skiles: Ilyasova - I want him out of commission.
Ilyasova: But Sensei, I can beat this guy!
Scott Skiles: I don't want him beaten.
Ilyasova: But I'll be disqualified!
Scott Skiles: [icily] Out of commission.

or

Scott Skiles: Sweep the jaw.
[Ilyasova stares at him in shock]
Scott Skiles: Do you have a problem with that?
Ilyasova: No, Sensei.
Scott Skiles: No mercy.

Every single (King), including your friend (Tyreke), is now an enemy of the (Bucks). Do what must be done. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy.
