Do we keep Diogu now that Griffin won't be here? I can't see us getting a better PF or C in the draft.

I like what I saw from Diogu. He brought an element that this team dosent have enough of and thats being an Enforcer. I want him back on the squad next year.

I would not give him the qualifying offer of 4 mil, but instead let him become a FA, and then pursue him on the maket in hopes of getting a better deal. Why? Because not that many teams will pay 4 mil for an unproven reserve big in today's market IMO, especially when the Kings could offer him a more involved role on the team in the rotation with JT and Hawes (but that all depends on the coaching situation).

I would like to see a 2 year deal at 6 mil with a third year option.

I'd be for signing him to a cheap contract unless we draft Hill. And, even then, maybe having a 4th big wouldn't be a disaster. I hope that he & his agent will have realistic expectations.

Well he couldn't have picked a worse time to be a free agent. Most teams are very luxury tax conscious right now and trying to get under it. A large majority of the teams are trying to shed salary for next years offseason.
There's no way in hell that you give him a qualifing offer. That would take us right out of the free agent market. I wouldn't mind bringing him back, but he wouldn't be my first priority.

Diogu can be a good player off the bench always his contract isn't very high.
Anyway, I think that the Kings should be choose a PF or C with #23 if it isn't traded.

Nor mine, but what do we have right now?

7 useful players who are under contract, and KT. Add 3 draft picks and you have 10 + KT. That means adding a couple more guys just to meet the CBA requirement, and adding 3 would get us to Geoff's magic number (14). With money as tight as it is, some players at minimum, or slightly over, is what I'm expecting. As one of those guys, I think Diogu'd be perfectly fine.

I'd like to see if Diogu will develop into more then what we seen here in Indianapolis. What he did at the end of this season kind of inspires a little hope that the light might have came on.

Well he definitely has potential that he can be an extremely explosive scorer, but there are a lot of questions that have to be answered. Overall he has too much potential to pass up.

I wan't to bring him back because the potential he showed in the last few games was ridiculous. I don't know if I would be able to handle letting go into Free Agency and getting signed by someon else, only to become a superstar (I know, won't happen...just a what if). I was extremely impressed with the kind of heart he put into those last games. Then afterwords his reaction showed that he was angry that no one gave him his chance. We need that kind of anger on this team... maby not in the same way but we need guys who WANT to be out there every single minute and that alone makes me want to resign him...

It depends upon the price tag. If he decides that he is worth a lot of money based on how he ended the season, then I say look at who else is out there that can fill the same role.

I liked what he did the last week of the season, but there is a reason he has floated around the league for a few years now.
