I would not give him the qualifying offer of 4 mil, but instead let him become a FA, and then pursue him on the maket in hopes of getting a better deal. Why? Because not that many teams will pay 4 mil for an unproven reserve big in today's market IMO, especially when the Kings could offer him a more involved role on the team in the rotation with JT and Hawes (but that all depends on the coaching situation).
I would like to see a 2 year deal at 6 mil with a third year option.
