Idle musing on a friday afternoon...

Hall of Famer
So, I've been hearing about and reading a few rumors going around today. Ak-47 apperently being on the trading block for one. And the other that not only is Jermaine O'Neal up for trade but our own Brad Miller's name has been thrown about as part of a package meaning the Kings could be involved.

So say Miller, and possibly a few of our enders would be needed to land him, get traded to Indiana and we get O'Neal here.

That would be quite an upgrade all around over Brad. I believe O'Neal leads the leagues in bpg, and is also 1 ppg shy of being a 20/10 player.

Of course I dont see Indiana doing it. But hey, some of us have our doubts regarding GP, but we all know he's a trade wizard. He's pulled off crazier stuff before.

But uh oh, Artest doesnt like playing with JO...This could be trouble. Or WOULD be trouble, but Petrie has traded Artest (and maybe a few throw ins to get the salaries right) to the Jazz for Andrei Kirilenko. Well done Geoff! ;)

That would give us a starting 5 along the lines of:

PG: Bibby
SG: Martin
SF: AK-47
PF: SAR
C: O'Neal

This is definately more of a bandaid approach to fixing the Kings then a rebuilding one. But Kirilenko and O'Neal would be quite a nice bandaid! The paint would definately be a stronghold, although we might lose a bit of perimeter D with the loss of Artest.

That is a really nice looking line-up. I wish it would happen

A potential problem being that Muss has yet to show that he can make the most of the players put before him. Every player we have right now is under acheiving (with the exception of Kmart). Not sure Muss can do any better with your line-up.

I would like to give a chance though.

i just don't see any logical reason why the pacers would trade JO for brad.. brad is a has been

Yeah, I hear that. The only reason I even brought up a trade with Brad involved is that I read some rumor on yahoo with him being mentioned in a possible trade involving JO. Camby was also mentioned, so it could be a 3 way which nets us not JO, but another player not mentioned, or Camby! :D

Of course given the source, its highly likely nothing of the sort will even materialize.

EDIT: Ha! I forgot that Kidd is supposedly on the block as well. Might as well make this trade thread of mine even daffier.

Bibby to NJ for Kidd. Dunno if the salaries work out but the Kings and Nets both have a lot of players that could be used as throw ins to balance out the trade money wise.

So our line up would be:

PG: Kidd
SG: Martin
SF: AK-47
PF: SAR
C: O'Neal

Again, my little play at being GM is straying even farther away from rebuilding (and reality)....But I for one really like that lineup. Granted Kidd's old (but still Mr. Triple double), and AK is injury prone....But I could see us actually being good enough to beat PORTLAND with that team :p

That would be an awesome line up- Very rarely am I excited about proposed lineups enough to comment...but wow.

If we could somehow get that unit to play cohesive offense- bringing salmons of the bench as a 6th - etc...i think that team could contend.

Not enough balls in a game for that lineup. Our Kevin might never see the ball!!! Naahhh..... not practical. Even Kidd. Would he help beyond this year? Plus he is big bucks.

Lets get a true PG who distributes first..... one who can get 8-10 ast/gm and still add 10+ pts. Then we need rebounding and defending the paint. KT and SAR are not the answer.

Um...Kidds at over 9 assists per game.

That goes along with his 8.3 rebs, and 1.9 steals.

Oh, he still adds 10+ points too.
