Let's say the future of the Sacramento Kings is in your hands. The top 3 priorities to take care of are as follows:
Players - Who do you keep? Who do you trade?
Staff - Keep Adelman? Keep Petrie?
Arena - New arena? Is it a major concern, or does the players and staff come first?
List the above 3 from first to third in priorty; which comes first? Second? Third? What will you do to address each of those areas?
Here is what I would do:
1. Players - Mike Bibby and Kevin Martin are untouchable. I would keep these 2 players. Everyone else is tradeable. My first trade would be:
Outgoing: Bonzi Wells, Peja Stojakovic, and Corliss Williamson
Incoming: Joe Johnson and Al Harrington
My second trade:
Outgoing: Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Brad Miller, and Kenny Thomas
Incoming: Kevin Garnett
Mike Bibby
Joe Johnson
Al Harrington
Kevin Garnett
Brian Skinner
Bench:
Jason Hart
Francisco Garcia
Kevin Martin
Jamal Sampson - Activate
Ronnie Price - Activate
The bench looks horrible, but the starting 5 looks beastly. The Kings would sign a free agent to be determined later. The Kings could easily become title contenders. However, if the bench becomes a problem as it is now, then a trade could be made to:
Outgoing: Al Harrington
Incoming: Earl Watson and Nene Hilario
Move Joe Johnson to the 3 spot and start Kevin Martin in the OG. Hence, the starting 5 would be:
Mike Bibby
Kevin Martin
Joe Johnson
Kevin Garnett
Brina Skiiner
Bench:
Earl Watson
Nene Hilario
Jason Hart
Francisco Garcia
Jamal Sampson - Activate
Ronnie Price - Activate
However, I would prefer to keep Al Harrington and just sign free agents to make the becnh stronger.
2. Arena - Get a new arena. Simple as that. Have the Maloofs do whatever it takes to get a new arena. Petrie took care of the players, now it's time for the Maloofs to take care of the arena.
3. Staff - If Petrie decides to make some trades, no need to question him (especially the trades I said). Adelman, I'd let him coach the rest of the season. I'd see if he could turn around the Kings with the revamped Kings, and if he still manages to blow it, then it's time to look at some new coaches.
This was my plan for the Kings for the rest of this year. We lose 80% of our starting lineup and most of our bench, but looking at that starting 5 gives me goosebumps.
Note: All of the trades were accepted on RealGM.com and I suggest you guys use it if you decide to make trades to make sure it'll work.
