How to get water out of your ears

Anyone know of a few suggestions? My friend has had water in her ears this whole afternoon after visiting the Dr to get her ears flushed out. She doesn't want to go to the store and spend any $$. So, is there any suggestions?

This sounds dumb, but I usually bend way over to that side and bounce my upper body up and down hard to get the water out. I hate water in my ear and this has almost never failed me. Other possible aids:

Tilt and shake your head to drain water from your ears. (What I do.) Gently dry your ears with the corner of a tissue or towel, or use a blow dryer on its lowest setting held several centimetres from the ear.

Put a few drops of rubbing alcohol or alcohol mixed with an equal amount of white vinegar into the ear after swimming or showering. This solution will increase the rate of evaporation of water in the ear canal and has antibacterial properties. Tilt your head and wiggle the outside of the ear so the solution gets to the bottom of the ear canal, then let the liquid drain out.

yawn like a million times than tilt your head to the side for a minute

LOL

or

hold her upside-down by her ankles then slap the heck out of her by hitting the "bottoms of her feet" ... :D

rock-go with what kennadog suggested that's basically what's in the swimmers ear drops that I use. I'm prone to ear infections so I use it every time after a shower.

lay on your side with the palm of your hand pressed against the ear so that a slight suction is created stay like that for several min. (I do this while watching TV on the floor) and usualy the ear just drains on it's own into your hand. Ocasionally I have had to work the suction a little like a plunger removing a clog.

The importat thing with ANY solution is NOT to put anything int the ear eccept a cotton swab and evne then be carefull!

Thanks everyone for your advice. After 10 hours, she is finally relieved of all that water. All she did was tilt her head to the side for about 5 minutes while watching a movie. She called and told me this and now she is a happy camper. :)

for some reason i'm suspicious that would take out your brain, too. "suctioning the ear" makes me nervous

And when the water finally decides to come out you get that popping sensation in you ear and then you feel all of the warm water dripping out.

We are talking about the slight suction you can create with the palm of your hand here... not using a shopvac on the side of your head!

I would suggest the Flowbee for that.

If you're going to go and suck your brains out of your head, you might as well go full boar and get a blade involved to increase the mess and excitement.
