It's funny that the arena isn't really worth one's time because it's all out of their hands. And yet how many threads and posts is it worth discussing what is wrong with the team on the court and/or front office? Isn't that really out of the fans hands too?

The answer of course is that if it's an important enough matter to a person, then it's important enough to be heard here on this forum or someplace else. Might be deaf ears or might just listen a bit. Never know for sure.

Maybe it's just me, but getting in depth on who should be starting on the team is like arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Knock yourself out and I might even throw in a lounge chair suggestion or two myself. But I sure am going to be beating on the wheelhouse door and shouting "Iceberg up ahead!" until we either miss it or hit it. Just my two cents.

We may have misunderstood each other. I wasn't saying that the arena wasn't important or that we shouldn't discuss it. I was just pointing out that the time time has passed where we can have any effect on it so we shouldn't feel like we have to discuss it, either.

Honestly, the fight is out of our hands at this point. Not that it was ever in our hands to begin with, but we're passed the point where the fans and Here We Stay, Here we Build, etc. can make any difference.

We’re also passed the point where attendance makes any difference.

The arena process is well underway and at this point it either fails or succeeds based on the powers that be.

We still need to show our support by showing up to council meetings at city hall.

I have been to many council meetings over the years and any time the arena is on the agenda I have noticed that more and more opposition are attending as we get closer to the deadline.

Do we want the opposition to have the loudest voice? Or do we want to be the majority and show our support to the council on a decision that they will make?

I refuse to be a keyboard warrior and instead attend as many council meetings as I can.

Since leaving a certain "documentary" I had to find a way to have my vision stay alive so I created Fund Arena Now Sacramento (FANS).

My vision has always been a theme or philosophy of "Bigger Than Basketball."

On Dec 13th the council, citizens and media all took notice of who we are. We shocked them with our creative "human power point presentation."

Then on Jan 17th we showed up with no arena on the agenda to once again show our support.

Even though Sandy Sheedy is against the arena for her own reasons, we got her to smile when we presented her with a white FANS T-shirt that said "The People" on it.

Steve Cohn was excited to get his T-shirt as were others like Bonnie Pannell. I saw their faces light up with big smiles as we spoke before them and presented them with T-shirts.

In other words if we do not show up to council meetings to show our support, then why should the council vote yes to proceed when there will be nothing but opposition as the majority? We need to have our voices heard too but we need to be the majority.

So, show up at the meetings with us. I don't think we are necessarily more passionate, we just show up at the meetings and make our voice heard where it will make the most impact. I can't believe others don't have a couple hours on a Tuesday evening to show up at a CC meeting once a month or so.

Anybody can join us at the city council. We want more people to show up. It isn't easy, for a lot of reasons. I have to get off work in Oroville and drive 1 1/2 hours to get to the meeting. An arena is important to this community, beyond just basketball. My granddaughter went to her first ice-show not long ago. But even if keeping the Kings in Sacramento is your only goal, we need you.

The meeting in February will possibly be the most important meeting yet on the arena. The plan could be defeated at that meeting or move farther forward. People showing up do make a difference.

I'll take time off work this next time, so I can be there early. The council chambers only holds so many people and I want it to be mostly supporters. It really can make an impression on the council. If you're willing to speak up and support the arena at the meeting, even better.

Also, when the agenda is published online, people can send comments via a link that will be added to the offical record of the council meeting as part of the public comments. We'll put up a link then and you can help just by flooding them with support that way. Its all about momentum and who is heard. I never imagined speaking before city council. Mike might be the only one who could've talked me into it. He gave me an assigned topic and I wasn't going to let the group down. Go #FANS!

We had a manager we didn't like at Bolton there were protests before games, chants throughout games, signs, booing at half and full time and he got untold abuse from the terraces.

now i don't condone abusing people but trust me it broke the camels back eventually and he had to go.

When the atmosphere in the stands gets to a certain level, a change becomes a necessity. Generally over here, the fans get what they want, because who wants to play in a stadium where the fans and players are getting abuse.

I appreciate your comments. I just hope that you and anyone else who live within reasonable driving distance will attend the Feb 14th city council meeting.

All you need to do is just show up on time, put on a white FANS T-shirt and take a seat. That is how you are making your voice heard. Leave the rest up to Justin and myself (founders of FANS).

Here's the great thing about the white FANS T-shirts: When anyone attends a council meeting no one has any idea if you are for or against the arena issue based on wearing your civilian clothes. You would need to speak before the council to show which side of the fence you are on. However, we have established ourselves and everyone within the council chamber knows who we are.

Our goal is to gain new support for our "Bigger Than Basketball" philosophy.

We are working on that but we need more help which is as I said to just show up and enjoy the show from your seat inside the council chamber.

The dedication they've shown to keeping the Kings in Sacramento AND obtaining a new venue for the people of Sacramento and the entire north state is almost mind-boggling. I truly wish I lived closer so I could be an actual part of this whole process instead of just a towel-waving supporter from the middle of the forest.

If you live anywhere near Sacramento, SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! Join them on Feb. 14 at the City Council Meeting. Stand up and be counted. It might be a learning experience you'll never forget.
