I tell you what: I was only two weeks old when the Warriors won their last championship, so if you want to tell me that, other than their Hall of Fame forwards, that team was totally guard oriented, I'll defer to your wisdom. But I actually saw that Bulls team play. I'd submit that calling that team "guard oriented" is splitting hairs a bit. Both of those Bulls three-peats were 2/3/4, rather than 1/2/4, like the Warriors are; you may not think that's a big difference, but it really is. And I should hope that the differences between Jordan and Curry's games don't need much explaining.

You know, I said at the beginning that I wasn't disagreeing with you. I actually was trying to figure out what kind of team exactly you, or anyone else is referring to. Someone referred to the remaining four teams as so called representatives of the new NBA, I guess. Then you replied to that post. So far no one, including you, has given me a definition of what kind of team their referring to. I looked at the Warrior team, and thought yeah, the players are different, but if it's about small ball, the Warriors aren't small. They do shoot a lot of threes, which is why I mentioned three's. I thought perhaps it was a reference to teams that don't have dominate centers. That's why I mentioned the Bulls, and the Warrior team that won the championship. I wasn't referring to the talent on the team when I mentioned Barry and Wilkes, I was referring to them because they happened to be some of the tallest players on the team.

So all I was looking for was some sort of explanation of exactly what you and the other poster were differing on. I don't need an explanation of the Bulls or the old Warriors team. I watched both play many times. I was a huge Rick Barry fan, and a huge Warrior fan when they won the championship, beating the so called best team in the NBA, the Washington Bullets, four games straight. They weren't even supposed to make the playoffs that year. So with all due respect, maybe you could break down exactly what it is you don't like, or think is different from what you would prefer.

I like Harris a lot, but he's basically Rudy 2.0. Big SF/Small-ball PF, Good rebounder, Great scorer, can do a lot of things with the ball for a guy his size. Would be great for a team without a capable wing #2 option, but that's not us.

Would drafting Winslow really prevent the Magic from matching any offer?

I'm not sure. The guy measured 6ft 4.5" without shoes. He seems undersized to fill the SF position, and is perhaps more suited to the SG position (which is filled by Oladipo). If they did play him at SF, they'd certainly have a small line up with two further undersized options in Oladipo at SG and Gordon playing PF for them as well.

I'd be surprised if they didn't match an offer for Harris, he seems to be part of the core they are building around. But I suppose he could try to force a move, and see if they can get a sign-and-trade deal for him from LA or NY.

I've questioned whether Winslow is a SF or a SG, and because you brought up Iggy, I went and looked up both players measurement results from the combine. Your right in that they are remarkably similar.

Iggy: 6'6.75"in shoes, 6'11"wingspan, and a 8'9.5" standing reach.
Winslow: 6'6.5" in shoes, 6'1o.25" wingspan, and a 8'8.5" standing reach.

If it works for Iggy, I see no reason it can't work for Winslow. If we were to draft him, then its possible we don't bring back Casspi. Might depend on the price.

I 100% agree which is why we need more 3pt shooting and floor spacing... Im not talking about "PACE" lol! or raining 3pt's every time down the floor... but we could definitely improve from being just about last place in 3pt shooting and theres no question that if we had players that could hit 3pt shots that would make Cousins job easier....

We should play thru Cousins and smash teams with him. BUT When teams double him we need guys all around the floor making them pay for doing so.

If we had the talent to be middle of the pack or top 10 in 3pt shooting we would be unstoppable with Cousins pounding the inside. Minus the Hawks the other 3 teams have Legit bigs tho... at least 1 true big

I like this. However, it would be beneficial to have a Reggie Evans-like type player on the opposite block from Cousins, poised to get a put-back if Cousins misses, and then the other 3 along the perimeter. It would be great if we could get a player that could do both, though. But I'd prefer a rebounder, though. The opposing team will more likely get the rebound if the only ones under the basket are Cousins' defender (who is closer to the basket) and Cousins. The ball doesn't bounce as far when a player misses from up close, and I'd like for us to take the advantage.

The "in shoes" measurement has always seemed odd to me. Without shoes, Winslow is at 6'4.5" while Iguodala is at 6'5.75". I understand the in shoes measurement is obviously the height they'll be playing in, but that height is subject to change with a simple switch of their shoes. When comparing two players heights, I think it's a much better comparison with them out of shoes. It levels the playing field.

It's pretty convenient that a 6'4.5" SF happens to have shoes that make him 2 inches taller. Just saying...

I may be alone as the guy who doesn't like Harris all that much. He reminds me too much of Corey Maggette - offense only, stat sheet stuffer on bad teams who never contributed to a winning squad. He's got talent and a great build for the game, but I don't see "limited touches role-player" as being a thing he would want to do.

Admittedly, I like the idea of surrounding Cousins with two combo-forwards or stretch-fours who can slide to either position (SF/PF), defend the post/perimeter, and shoot the rock. This gives space for Big Cuz to operate while stretching the defense and giving us a deadly 3-p shooting arsenal from up to four positions.

However, I'm not sure Harris is the right guys, mainly because he's too duplicative - and not complimentary - to Rudy Gay's weaknesses, namely volume scoring, passing, and so-so to poor defense. Given that passing and defense are our biggest long-term weaknesses, I'd pass unless there's a steal to be had (which given Tobias' asking price is highly unlikely).

well it seems that pretty much every NBA player is gonna be making 15 a year now.... lol! with some of these deals going down that doesn't seem unreasonable for a 22 yr old thats still improving and put up 17 pts and 6.3 rebs.... while shooting 36% from 3 ....

Sure, but he's Gay 2.0. We play both of them together, but what happens when someone rolls out a big lineup against us? As much as we're saying that Gay will play the 4, it's not really realistic in the long run. For different match-ups, yes...but, we need a big down there with Cousins.

how so? It's only Curry who really dominates the ball. Thompson can easily come off of screens all day long. Harris creates ala Gay. But, it's a moot point now. We signed Rondo, so we don't have any space to sign Tobias anyway.

You forgot the most important number: 22. He put up those numbers with decent efficiency at 22 years old. He's still got potential to grow into an even better player. And the P-Word is a big commodity this time of year.
