one question tho. Who was guarding Butler. I mean he was WIDE open. I don't recall if there was a screen for him or anything but whoever was guarding him needs a spanking.

Very well played game - nice for full house to see. Hopefully, against the W's in 24 hrs. the same kind of effort. Hard to imagine in back-to-back. But heck, they'll be in Oakland just a couple hours and Golden State is playing horrible losing 5 in a row with all kinds of injuries. And last time we played them at that raucous Oracle Arena it was triple OT.

That was bull**** , that garcia shot was a 3 pointer. F those refs.

The replays looked pretty clear it was really a two w/ his right foot on the line. Maybe there is a different angle, but I don't think it was as close as when that happened a couple of weeka ago.

Whooweee, that was one of the best games in a long time. It really doesn't matter the end result. Garcia has to be one of the greatest clutch players that isn't anything close to a star.

Hopefully Garcia can become a Robert Horry lite clutchness when we are actually contending for a champ :)

Forget Cisco's three - it's very close - but it looks like he lurched forward and got on line by maybe half inch. What I can't stomach is you have 1.7 seconds left and all you have to do is deny anything and everything out at the 3 point line - switching all screens. Then all you can have happen is a deuce scored and you go to OT or a foul on a 3 attempt with then 17,300 screaming for some Nawlins bloke to miss em.' GEEEZZZ!

There could be something a lot more painful than this.. imagine if we ended up getting the 4th pick with the worst record xD hopefully that wont be the case

Garcia was guarding him. There was a screen, but for some reason Garcia stopped.

I know this is good for our draft hopes, but I can't help but feel bad for the guys. They played a tough game tonight.

I know.. its hard being a fan and not wanting your team to win. While I was watching the game i couldn't hold back wanting the team to win myself too. It was only after they loss where i thought to myself more about the future of the team. Hopefully with the draft pick there'll be less heart breaking losses like this one.

I just rolled back my VCR to see that last play which was a 1.7 second blur. Here's what unfolded with the camera angle. Kings did not guard the out of bounds man. Therefore, 5 Kings players guarding 4 New Orleans blokes. The screen was West dropping down on Noc who tried to fight it off, but strangely Thompson froze. But that still left 3 other Kings players spread out looking for something to do. Butler just slide off the screen and took the wide open 3. As the shot went up CP3 was at least 28 feet out almost sitting in Gavin Maloof's lap who went from jumping on the court hugging Beno to a no telling what expression as camera panned elsewhere.

Hmm, not sure about that, but as I reviewed it just now, Martin was guarding the inbound pass. Thompson was on the bench. Garcia was guarding Butler, but stopped at West down low as Nocioni and Garcia essentially double teamed West. I think Garcia figured Nocioni would slide over and guard Butler, but he didn't. You can see Garcia right after the shot goes in with his arms spread out yelling at Nocioni.

I was there. Either way, the fact that they reviewed such a close call again on such a crucial play is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, im all for getting the right call, but it sickens me that they can spend 10 minutes overturning this super close call but when it comes to phantom fouls or non-calls their is no reviewing. I would rather have no reviewing at all unless its a last second buzzer beater. I highly doubt they would've have delayed the game like that right in the fourth quarter against a team like the Lakers. Im just effing pissed that 2 times now in the last month we've had games decided by a bogus review out of no where. If its that close just give him the damn basket and get on with the game. O well, it was nice to see Vlade and the rest of the gang thoe! :)

As with everything about this entire game, it was Natts fault. That man just doesn't know what he is doing, he is trying to outsmart himself.

You dont guard the inbounder in this situation.
Noce should have switched though, the Kings switch everything. In Chicago, you fight through that screen.

I really don't like switching. It got to a point when they would switch and NO wasn't even setting real screens. Natt disgusts me.

After game like this, I can't believe that we have the worst score in the NBA?! Yes, Hornets were without Peja and Tyson, but still... I kind of think if these guys that are on the Kings now would have support like last night in every game, they'd have more wins. But they also need to show great hustle every night and I guess they need better coach.

I was delighted with Noccioni's playing until the last minute. First he dropped the ball when he was about to score an easy basket and then he didn't stop Butler from winning the game. Francisco was really good, he could probably become a leader of this team in the further seasons.

As for the ceremony, it was tremendous. Really touching to see that final hug(Vlade, Chris, Doug, Peja and Scott). I just can't wait to watch Kings in the playoffs again!

The shot was called a two on the floor, so the review didn't actually change anything. It certainly didn't decide the game -- in this case it could only have HELPED us.

Somehow I don't think you'd have said the same thing had Butler's foot been near the line on the final shot.

We are overanalyzing this. This was BAD defense, pure and simple. Each situation dictates what players should do. Butler ran damn near from under the rim, and Garcia had plenty of time to fight around the screen and follow him. I can't tell, but if he yelled "help" or if he was vocal, Nocioni should have switched. Even if Garcia had not said anything, Nocioni needs to be aware of the situation and the impending pick. Unless Natt specifically said "no switching" I don't see how this is his fault. On defense, the coach is not as important especially on bang bang plays like this. Down by 2, you guard the 3 point line first, everything else is secondary. Mistake by the players, again, unless Natt specified otherwise.

Im pretty sure the shot was called a 3... thats what I saw at least. Either way, screw the refs.

Man, what a perfect game! It was everything I wanted out of that game. Being a Kings and Hornets fan, I knew the best outcome would be a Hornet win because it would help the Kings in the lottery, and it would help the Hornets in their quest for the playoffs, especially boosting their confidence with a win with a shorthanded team. But, being a fan of the Kings, I wanted the team to play hard and be competitive, and that's exactly what they did. Amazing night.

In regards to the game from the Kings perspective: I was *once again* amazed at how the Kings ignored Spencer and JT in the post. The hornets were playing without Chandler, and Armstrong and Marks should have been attacked. Also, with West injuring his ankle, that added to the weakness down low. But the Kings entire offense is built around the high pick and roll, so that's out the window. I really hope they get a coach who knows how to run an offense out of the post, and also knows how to attack a team when they have an advantage...

...but I have to hand it to the Kings for limiting Paul. He did have 15 dimes, but they were really stopping his penetration and limiting him around the basket. That Garcia block at the end was golden.

Grant said on the telecast that the refs called it a two on the floor. They originally thought it was called a three, but the ruling on the floor was reversed (or clarified) before the review.

Either way, chill out.
