Halloween Costumes: Past and Present

Ryan

I like turtles
I want to open up this thread for anyone who wants to share their best costumes of new and old.

5th grade: I was a barrel of toxic waste. I got the idea from Calvin and Hobbs.

This year I'm going as Jim Halpert from the office. All I have to do is wear my hear down, grab a shirt and tie and make those weird faces. It goes along with my lazy effort to put together a costume.

When I was little I only had a few costumes and I'd rotate them every couple years and eventually mixing them together. Vampire pirate, ninja pirate, ninja with a backwards hat.

How about some photos?

A couple of our son over the years.....

As far as my own? No photos I know of, but Superman, a pirate, a gargoyle, and a nerd.

I've had some great costumes over the years, though unfortunately I don't have any of the pictures that have been taken of them. As a teenager, I foraged around the thrift stores and put together an awesome flamenco dancer costume one year. A year after that I was a 1940s waitress, and the next year I was June Cleaver.

As an adult, I haven't dressed up as often (or been as creative with it) as I would have liked, but I have done the stereotypical slutty Halloween thing over the last few years - highlights from that phase were a pin-up girl, a devil pin-up girl, and Gail from Sin City. This year I'm putting together a so far awesome costume as Joan (Christina Hendricks) from "Mad Men." I just need to find a few more vintage jewelry pieces and decide whether to get a red wig or dye it on Friday night.
