All we have to do is play all the good teams on the second night of back-to-backs for the rest of the season, and we're home free!
thats nice, i mean really whats the point of even commenting if some people keep making excuses for other teams :they where tired, they where on the second night of a back to back, someone was hurt, they didn't get to eat, aliens abducted them the night before, someone forgot their lucky pregame ritual, they sucked, they where too good, they took the night off, they played too hard, it hurt .... i mean it obviously cant be the fact that Kings out played someone. No way. That cant happen. Ever.

Look, the win, while nice in the moment, just wasn't that significant. In the final analysis, come May, the Spurs will be in the mix for the 2008 NBA Championship, and the Kings will be watching it on TV.

To my point of view, people who try to make too much out of this win, and get overly defensive when people say it's not a big deal are asking themselves the wrong questions. To me, the questions that need to be asked are: is this win going to turn the season around? Is it going to "make" the Kings? Is it going to "break" the Spurs? Do we win this game if the circumstances were reversed?

If the answer to these questions is no, and I believe they are, then the win (in my estimation) just isn't that big a deal.

:D The game was wonderful! We were on the edges of our seats the entire time. My kids thought we were lunatics with all our yelling (the neighbors probably thought we were nuts too!)

Tonight's game shows that the Kings can stand toe to toe with quality teams and beat them, and it doesn't matter if a team has back to back games, championship teams should win them, especially a veteran team like the Spurs. The Kings fought hard and earned another win without any handouts and the win wasn't based on luck either.
the spurs have are the oldest team in the league and have always been the worst team year after year on back to backs

Props to the Kings players, they saw the opportunity and made the most of it, a job well done. I think the Spurs played with heavy legs (4th game in 5 nights), but not much of excuse on my part, they simply got out played tonite. When the only Spurs that deserve an A in this game is Bowen, that should really tell us some perspective, right ? :D

punch drunk love was a beautiful, excellent film, full of great character quirks and a unique, genuinely romantic storyline. it's a terribly misunderstood movie, and in my opinion, paul thomas anderson's (boogie nights, magnolia) best. the rest on your list, however, i can agree with wholeheartedly...
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Our group gave it a resounding "we should have left and got our $$$ back". We were hoping for a "typical" Adam Sandler film, and that is how the film was marketed. Maybe something more like 50 First Dates or something. This was just......not what we were expecting and not a "romantic comedy", at least not in the traditional sense....

IOHO, obviously. ;)

Who wishes they hadn't made it? Do you mean Adam Sandler or Paul Thomas Anderson? (Personally, I love that movie but to each his own.)
Count me in the 'really enjoyed and was suprised by' Punch Drunk Love group. Luckily, I wasn't expecting a regular Adam Sandler movie, even though I enjoy them.

Brick-

Demolition Man is a guilty pleasure movie of mine, and I too think that Peacemaker is a good underrated film.

I have to admit to owning Batman and Robin (not that I think it's good or anything - for a while I was collecting Arnie movies). Sorry. Sue me. :p

I wish they hadn't made it. ;)

If I watched it again now, knowing what it is, I might not feel the same now. But I won't, because I have way too many other films I'd rather watch the first time than spend time watching that again. It just roundly ruined our entire evening (based on the composition of our group and movie expectations). The composition of our group part is vital in this instance.

I'm not going to continue berating this film. Different strokes for differnt folks, and all that (see the above post, for instance!). Based on marketing and previous Adam Sandler films we were expecting something and were disappointed to get something else. And given the group we had, that wasn't a good thing.

Alright, I respect everyone's own opinion, but I still feel that this win was huge and it shows that the Kings are headed in the right direction.
the nba is a league where any given team can beat any other team on any one night. come playoff time, the inferior team will not pull it out over the course of a seven game series, and there are no back-to-backs to assist either team.

they did great against the spurs last night, but i don't think that it was any great feat. i'd be beyond surprise if the kings made the playoffs this year, and a step towards a 30 win season with no high percentage way to acquire better talent is not a step in the right direction, IMO.

Can I suggest:

*Punch Drunk Love
*Ultraviolet
*Aeon Flux
*Brothers Grimm
*Species
*"updated" versions of Star Wars IV-VI (Han Solo shoots first, dammit), or maybe I-III at all (Who the #$%@*&^ thought Jar Jar was a good character) for that matter.....
*Anything with Jean-Claude Van Damme in it
*Any movie so far based off a video game

Am I missing anything yet????
How about what is perhaps the worst movie of all time....and very appropriate for this time of the year:

Star Wars: The Phantom Meance -- I am hereby taking another poster's advice, and using this movie. Wildly successful? Sure. But the party with regrets in this one might be George Lucas (who's regrets likely ended as he was counting his millions at the bank). Revered as some sort of god for putting together the intial trilogy, The Phantom Menace (and the wildly despised Jar Jar Binks) popped his balloon, and with the help of the other two prequels reduced him from great Star Wars guru, to the guy who was the problem. I could have used a number of the big name actors involved here as well, as they all seemed flat and swallowed up by the CGI. But none appeared to suffer any real damage from the director making them look bad, and it was Lucas's shame, not the actors/actresses.
Yes, the movie was a big disappointment and Jar Jar pretty much ruined it for everyone involved. However, lets give credit where credit is due - Darth Mal may have been the coolest character in the entire saga.
