Adelman a B+??? I'm not so sure.

What would you do as coach with 32 seconds left, no timeouts left, and down 4 points (ie, TWO possessions)?

Obviously, the Kings were content to NOT foul until Odom made the fatal error. Had Odom held the ball, the game clock could have been run down to 8 seconds before the Kings got the ball back with no timeouts left and down two possessions.

Think about it...

Adelman ( B+ ) --Only thing Rick might have been involved in late was calling KTs number again and again and again after Luke Walton appeared like an answer from a prayer for us. And if he did, good on him. Just outcoached the master + a little revenge. Fun game. Felt bigger than it was.

Rick did call KTs # over and over. Gman mentioned it several times during the overtime.

RA was excited about this win. He even gave a fist pump after the buzzer sounded.

Arco crowd get A++ for chanting BEAT LA!!!!

For season ticket holders who sold their seats to Lakers fans- F

There were way to many Lakers fans in attendance last night and when the game first started you thought you were in LA. I have never heard it like that. When Odom hit that 3 every Laker fan jumped up screaming and started flashing their Kobe jerseys and it was so nice to shut them up when Brad tied the game.

Also, Dan Crawford should never be allowed to officiate a Lakers game. You may as well just put a yellow/purple jersey on him as he is the Lakers 6th man.

Doug Collins: F- The guy couldn't go 15 seconds without talking about Kobe. All game long, KobeKobeKobeKobe. SHUT UP! They even talked about Kobe incessantly while he was on the bench. I eventually just watched the game on mute. EVERY TIME the Kings made a big shot, the announcers were dead silent. The Kings never got any credit whatsoever for their play or for the win, but at least it shut Collins up for a while, so that's worth something. Arghh!!!

Anyway, great win, and outstanding job by Francisco on Kobe.

Yes- he barely even mentioned "Steeeyokovich" at all

I don't know why that bugs me, but it's like I'm biting into a foil ball every time he says that. Perhaps he has neurological damage, but everyone around him pronounces names correctly so you'd think it would sink in afetr a few years. Strange man.

Thanks for mentioning that. I was soo sickened by how much yellow I saw in the stands on TV. Definitley a major flop to you ticketholders.

yeah, that was amazing. Being at the game and looking out at all the yellow & hearing the cheers was pretty sad. The thing that hit me was, why are their so many Kings season ticket holders who would skip the Lakers game?? And, why were there so many fans who left with 33 seconds to go and Kings were down by 5?? are the "best fans in the NBA" that fickle??

Was it Laker fans leaving? They do that all the time, you know....

No, in regulation it definitely looked like Kings fans going out the door, because it looked like the Lakers may have it wrapped up. Most of the Lakers fan (in the section I was in at least) did leave early, when we were up in overtime they started walking out.

One of the most enjoyable games in years. Was there. Arco crowd was seriously energized and up for this = A, and the team DELIVERED = A.

Watching KT completely humiliate Walton in OT was priceless. Witnessing a true team effort vs. the one-man side show, also something not soon to be forgotten.

Too many more things to list. Suffice it to say, the kind of game that keeps you coming back for more.

Go KINGS!

Personally I give Miller an A for the hard foul on Kobe alone and I toss in a plus for the screen that smuhed Smush. Ok beyond that his shooting struggles were painfull but in the end the 3 pointer to send the game in to OT bought all my forgiveness.

I was at the game, so not sure what they showed on TNT after the hard foul, but Bryant was whining and looking for a flagrant. I was actually surprised when Crawford and crew didn't cave in to his highness and grant that, considering they were calling anything close on Bryant all night long - touch fouls, breathing, whatever. Would like to see Brad play with this degree of toughness all the time!

Phil Jackson (A+) for bringing Luke Walton in to play Thomas in OT and leaving bigger more athletic guys sitting on the bench not once but three times for KT plus the assist to Cisco. Wasn't it just Monday that Bynum was in against Shaq and the LA media went gaga cause Bynum had the audacity to mix it up with Shaq? Yes, Walton had done a creditable job on KT earlier in the game with KT playing the high post but RA made the adjustment and KT came through. Anyway, thanks, to the best Hall of Fame Coach 3 superstars ever made.

I loved his smirk after the foul with Kobe checking his nose for blood. :) Did you see Kobe psyching himself up after that? Nodding to himself while walking across the floor, like "OK, so that's the way it's going to be". Kinda funny, considering he was getting almost every call when the whistle blew. What was he doing, thinking of more ways to score without involving his teammates?

Didn't see that part (Kobe's psych job) as I was too busy cheering/hollering like crazy for Brad's tough play ;)

Will have a look tonight on tivo, though, as I watch this one again.

And you're right about Kobe not involving his teammates, with the one exception I can think of being the kick-out to Odom for 3 late in regualation. As "great" as he is, he is one hell of a lousy teammate.

Kwame brown deserves a B+ for those two wide open blown layups.
He was the #1 pick in the draft. He deserves some respect here.

seriously. I think it really bugs him that when someone passes the ball to him before a shot they actually get an ASSIST. If he could just think of a way to pass it to himself.....

great team effort. loved it. i loevd seein kobe whining when he didnt get the ball. he finally got that "Laker not named KOBE" feeling. and probs to brad for layin the lumber on him (since its brad, thats as close to laying the lumber as it'll get). and after he saw kobe trying to get in his face he just smirked and turned around like "what, b*tch?".

also i thought it was funny as hell after odom hit that 3 at 35 seconds, D-Collins was like "well after this game, the kings will be at 11-12 at home. something theyre not used to."

oh, and kevin harlan's "OHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" after brad hit that 3 was great. i jumped out of my seat when he hit that shot (i jumped after all of bibby's, what, 3 or 4 clutch shots in that 4th quarter/OT). sitting at home, watching it on tv, and i felt like i was THERE

its funny how garcia has a higher grade than martin when kobe scored more on garcia than he did on martin....

TNT showed some of the pout-fest but of course did not shwo the actual interactions with the refs and of course Collins was too wraped up in his tales of Jordan and praising Kobe to even mention it. The DID show the Kings bench high fiving a smirking Brad... and yes I would LOVE to see Brad play that tough every night my self!:D

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! I actually put my TV on mute early into the 3rd because I simply could not take it anymore. I tried the G-man on the radio, but TNT is 3-4 secs delayed so it did not work. But back to Collins' love affair with Kobe - He not MJ so please do not compare. MJ was a great teamate and in all respects Kobe sucks as a teamate - he is a complainer and actually makes those around him worse rather than better. I don't care if he scores 70 a night, as long as his team is average I don't think his points matter much - especially when the others might as well just get back on defense because they are irrelevant on the offense. Also, Kobe's shot selection in OT was horrible. I could go on and on........suffice it to say I have heard plenty about Kobe.

Sorry but it was Martin guarding him in the first when Kobe went for 21.

Don't tell that to TNT analysts or ESPN.

After the game between Cleveland and LA, they couldn't distinguish between what Kobe's bottom tasted like compared to chocolate ... their lips were FIRMLY planted on his buttox. In that game Kobe took the last 5 shots (hitting 2 of them) and LeBron on his last 5 possessions hit one shot and passed to wide open teammates for 4 other attempts.

They said that is why Kobe is so much better than Lebron and why LeBron will never be a "true superstar". They went as far as to call LeBron a middle tier man.

Anyhow, they said that Kobe's "ballhoggity" behavior is why he is so great!

Meanwhile, in that game, Kobe was 9-21 with 2 assists for 27 points. LeBron was 11-22 with 9 assists for 29 points. I'm sorry, I just take LeBron's style of play and attitude over Kobe 100 times out of 100.

It just made me laugh.

A great game to watch on TV would have rather been at Arco! Came down to Kobe vs. Kings team...Thomas was huge...he put the moves on Walton, making him feel like a rookie again! Bibby,Miller,Thomas the big 3...Peja,Rahim,Garcia andf Martin giving competetive minutes. I'm juiced like the old days....Sorry Barkley...no win for LA. he tried to claim there is no rivaly because the Kings have never won a title...so what, we know it's a big game each time we play the Lakers. That's the way we remember our Kings...winning at home! Sweet.

I hate to partcipate in conspiracy theories......however, I do think that the league and the networks have a vested interest in making Kobe a MJ-type superstar because being in the the MJ business was so profitable in his time.

Kobe is always going to get his points. Just like any other superstar in this game they're all going to get there points. Garcia guarded Kobe very well in the second half considering how good Kobe is.

I also think the league favors bigger franchises like LA, over little ones like Sac. To me, the officiating in the kings/lakers WCF is proof positive of that. It was criminal. You can probably go to almost any country in the world and find an LA Lakers jersey for sale somewhere. Maybe San Antonio jerseys as well (Kinda buys into the interest in the American West still prevalent in many places).
