Doug Collins: F- The guy couldn't go 15 seconds without talking about Kobe. All game long, KobeKobeKobeKobe. SHUT UP! They even talked about Kobe incessantly while he was on the bench. I eventually just watched the game on mute. EVERY TIME the Kings made a big shot, the announcers were dead silent. The Kings never got any credit whatsoever for their play or for the win, but at least it shut Collins up for a while, so that's worth something. Arghh!!!

Anyway, great win, and outstanding job by Francisco on Kobe.
you forgot to mention that doug collins has bad hair.
just thought i should point that out to you

Peja...C...Well...He had 10 rebounds...His shot was abysmal tonight missing wide-oped look after wide-open look, but instead of actually doing absolutly nothing out there, stepped it up, and helped in other areas of the game.

Peja did well tonight, considering he's been fighting injuries all year.

Clippers, Suns, Lakers...if we could play a weighted schedule like MLB we'd be leading the Pacific in spite of our other woes.

And I'll point out to you - again - that this is a Kings board. We tolerate Laker fans but ask that they please respect us enough not to get in the way of our celebrating OUR team's wins on OUR board.

Thanks for understanding.

That's how I saw it, but what's new. The TNT guys always call Kings games like that. They might as well be Los Angeles announcers.

GO KINGS!!!! YESSSS

Not to take anything away from kobe, but that foo has just taken any of the driving in ability away from his game... All he does is shoot... Although lately he's draining them like the baskets 10 ft wide, but that's all he does and he aint missing... Well except for OT haha I love it...

A's all around especially bibby, thomas and garcia... Lamar odom gets an ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ+++++++++++++++++++++++

peja and brad had double doubles, kenny a triple double

it was double's night for sure at arco arena :D

A+ for the kings! that was such a great game.

Odom is kind of like Peja. He has enough ability that people expect big things out of him. In the end he rarely lives up to the hype. Don't know that it's his fault, as, like Peja, he is who he is. Tonight though, yeah, he puts the game on ice with the dagger three, then pulls us right back out of the fridge with that stupid drive, and not finding Kobe. Nutty.

That's true- he was the Kings best player after he hit the 3 with 35 ticks left.

Wow, what a win. Yes, the Lakers made mistakes, but I'm blown away by the Kings ability to capitalize on them!!!! It still took two CLUTCH threes.

Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I'm going to salute OUR players. WE WON and it was OUR guys who toughed it out. I'm not taking any of that away by making it sound like we had help.

Amen to that!

Peja ( C+ ) -- got off to the type of start you feared he might. Was missing and looking uncomfortable. But began to settle in and splashed in some shots as the first half wore on. Unfortunately that was about it for him offensively. Had 11 at half, and 13 for the entire game. Note I said offensively, because this was another one of those games recently where Peja has shown a willingness to break a nail and get back to help on the glass. Grabbed 10, including what looked to be his first career offensive rebound on a free throw. Fell into his hands and I swear I thought he was going to drop it he was so surprised -- looked lot a hot potato. In any case, was invisible offensively after half, but not a complete washout. Gradewise I think I'm getting a little numb to 4-12 type nights from Peja I guess, and his showing up on the boards lifted it up to a respectable level for me.

I remember seeing that and also asking myself if that was his first offensive board off of a free throw. It almost seemed like he put his hands up to prevent the ball from hitting him in the head.

Besides shooting badly, he rebounded well for himself and played consistent D. Agree with the grade.

Si! But here's tonight's equation:

Our guys' talent and their resourcefulness + Laker Stupidity at the end of 4th quarter thinking they will win it = THE KINGS WIN!:D

It really made my week:

Seeing D'Antoni's face in 3rd quarter + Kobe's Dissapointing look at Odom = Happiest Kings fan.:D

See what I mean!

LOL

On another note, congrats to Peja and his wife on their second baby. I'm a little late on it.

Adelman ( B+ ) -- You know what? Tonight was really not about the coach. There were a few moments of mild interest, but this was won and lost by the players for the most part. Rick knew what he was in for, and was trying to double Kobe from the beginning of the game, but after Kobe just exploded Rick seemed to REALLY put on emphasis on it. We ran some zone, doubled Kobe from a lot of angles, and slowed him down at least. Rick's substitutions tongiht were largely dictated by foul trouble. Kevin was in immediate trouble, so in came Garcia. Garcia quickly got two, and so in came little Jason Hart trying to stop Kobe. But a couple were not. First of all, Rick brought Reef into the game early, broken jaw and all. The clear plan seemed to be to Keep Miller matched with Mihm, and when Kwame moved over to center, Rick immeidately benched Brad and brought in Reef to play center, whihc he has NOT done well at this year (nor should he). Secondly Rick took advantage of Kobe's absence to start the 2nd quarter to sneak Garcia back into the game and get him settled without Kobe their working under his skin. A move that paid off late in the game. And finally Rick's late game handing of his swingmen spots was interesting. Peja sat for long stretches in the 4th. He tried Martin, but I think the fouls had knocked Kevin back into passivity, so he went back awaya. And then he found a reenergized Cisco to match on Kobe and at least stay with him, And while the turth is we should have still lost this one, Cisco's late defense on Kobe nonetheless helped us pull it out. As for the rest? Well that was about Kobe dominating play on their side. Mike playing the hero for us. Lamar Odom being an idiot. brad Miller choking the game away and then redeeming himself. Only thing Rick might have been involved in late was calling KTs number again and again and again after Luke Walton appeared like an answer from a prayer for us. And if he did, good on him. Just outcoached the master + a little revenge. Fun game. Felt bigger than it was.

Wasn't Brad put on the bench early because of foul trouble? I think he had gotten an early second foul so he had to sit him in the 1st.

Personally I give Miller an A for the hard foul on Kobe alone and I toss in a plus for the screen that smuhed Smush. Ok beyond that his shooting struggles were painfull but in the end the 3 pointer to send the game in to OT bought all my forgiveness.
