Except Shaq had someone by the name of Kobe on his team (who would only become the 2nd best SG of all time). Shaq had the good fortune to play on a team that was coached by the same guy who coached Jordan, had Kobe, and a roster full of shooters, scrappers, and defenders. In other words, a "as good as it gets" scenario for a dominant big.

Um was Shaq always on the Lakers? Cousins doesn't make his team mates better. Shaq most certainly did.

Did you forget about Penny Hardaway? He was a beast back then. Cousins may not have the same effect that Shaq had, but do you know what our record is without him? Laughable is what it is. Like Philly bad, maybe even worse.

Shaq spent his entire career playing next to HOF caliber talents as his "wingmen". You want to materialize James Harden or Russel Westbrook on this roster next to Cuz and I'm pretty much guaranteeing we'd be a sudden power too.

I think u r way over valuing the Orlando team but that my opinion and I have a right to think that. Sorry dude. Plus this team has plenty of talent but doesn't translate to wins. U a serious pot head if u think cuz is better than shaq
Which part was overrated? Penny wasn't all nba? Ho grant wasn't an all star? Scott didnt lead league in 3s? About the only argument was that Anderson was borderline all star and he was much better at that point.
When has cousins played with a roster like that?

All of those players were better because of Shaq. Penny was SolId not all NBA come on. Grant was an Allstar because Jordan..enough said. Omri Leads in 3 pct. rondo is a borderline Allstar. Rudy is team USA. Yet we are not winners. Our big guy only makes himself better not our team. Or else we would be better.

Shaq and Cuz are two completely different players. Each is or was dominate. Shaq was 7'2" in shoes, while Cuz is 6'11" in shoes. Shaq weighed 303 pounds and had a wingspan of 7'7". Cousins weighs 270 pounds and has a wingspan of 7'5". Overall, Shaq was a far better athlete than Cuz. He was a 300 pound guy with at 36 inch vertical. Give him the ball in the paint, and he was just stronger, quicker, and a more powerful athlete than anyone who tried to defend him. But Shaq couldn't do all the things that Cousins can do. Cousins is a far better ballhandler, and has the ability to shoot the ball all the way out to the three. Take Shaq away from the basket, he had little to no game. Cousins is a good free throw shooter. Anyone heard the term, "Hack a Shaq"?
If you want to compare success, and define it as how many games your team won, then it's hard to argue against Shaq, but as pointed out, Shaq had the good fortune to be surrounded by very good teammates, some of them HOFérs and be coached by HOF coaches for most of his career. Maybe the question should be, if you were starting a team, and you had to choose between a 21 year old Shaq, or a 21 year old Cousins, who would you choose?

I disagree on Penny Hardaway. Before he blew his knee out, he was as good as any player in the NBA at his position. Some don't remember him because his career got cut short, or at least the career he would have had. Also, I'd like to point out that Plumlee was also on team USA, so do you think that makes him one of the best centers or PF's in the NBA? Now if you want to say that none of these teams, despite being loaded with talent couldn't win a title until Shaq showed up, then I agree with you. He became the final piece to the puzzle. But how good would the Lakers have been without Kobe, or Miami without Wade. I think they were equally important players.
Just a guess on my part, but I suspect that if you were to replace McLemore with Wade, we might be a tad better team.

We got rondo and gay yet we still have it gotten to 30 wins w cuz. U honestly think Shaq w anybody wouldn't win atleast 30

You're not. Penny would have been a heck of a player if not for the injury. Solid is what I use to define role players. Penny was great. Would have had a great career too, but it wasn't meant to be. I've never seen anyone dismiss being a 3x all star as if it were a fart in the wind. Shaq was the best on that team, but no one can do it alone. Cousins makes his team better, but looking at his past teammates, it's not exactly rocket science to figure out why his teammates never got better. It's because they sucked. No matter how you disguise trash, it's still trash. And that's what Cousins has had for teammates until this current season. We got off to a horrible start and have played poorly in too many games, but for the most part we have been respectable and in most games. It's more than what I can say about the previous 8 seasons.

This isn't NBA 2K. Just because something should work, it doesn't necessarily mean it will. Some parts don't fit together. I don't view Rudy as a number two option because he isn't good if he's the focal point on offense. We need a real number two weapon and the tide would turn. We also have several players playing selfishly and well below their career percentages. We also don't have a good SG. We are an incomplete team, that's why we don't have a winning record.

Sorry but if cuz is as dominant as 80% of u think we should have won more than 30 games by now despite the team and coach. Bottom line dominant bigs like Shaq will theirs teams to victory. Cuz needs to figure out that he needs to change

You are literally ignoring huge problems for this organization and only focusing on Cousins. This organization has been it's own worst enemy for almost a decade now, imploding at every turn and you want one guy, where half of his past teammates are no longer even in the NBA due to being horrible, to carry a franchise to 30 wins, "despite the team and coach" as you so casually put it? If you were working on a project at work that meant a lot to you and required people with skills and effort, and I gave you rooks and people who I knew weren't good, how do you think that project would turn out as opposed to it being done by people who know what they are doing? The NBA is not about one guy nor can any team expect a single player to carry it, even a well run franchise. Even LeBron needed help and has Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, with Wade and Bosh before that. No one can do it alone. You are being incredibly ignorant of this.
That's just silly. No player can WILL a team to victory. None.

Why aren't the Lakers winning now then? Let me guess, because Kobe is old? But, but, but he should be able to will them to victory (as you say), regardless of his age! Darn..... see how that works? Let me ignore that Kobe is 38 and blame him anyway.
Why can't Lillard lead the Blazers to wins, a guy who was in the playoffs regularly? How about Anthony Davis? How about Carmelo with the Knicks last season? Even the Thunder missed the playoffs last season because of injuries. Either you are being ignorant on purpose (let us hope) or you really lack even simple basketball knowledge.
There are circumstances that are out of a player's control that can have a direct effect on the team from its best player to its worst. You are missing the big picture, especially with this franchise. We have had so many problems for so long that it has taken us 9 years to just start getting out of the mud.
Congratulations on wasting a whole lot of people's time. There's no reason to even bother to respond to your posts any longer because you bring nothing to the table. I'm going to venture a guess and say your time here is going to come to an end quickly if you do not begin to treat others with at least a little decency. If you want to prove a point, why don't you put out some objective measures instead of relying on your opinion and name calling. Numbers speak for themselves. I for one can't wait to see what you have in store for your opinion that Cousins doesn't make this team better. I'll be waiting.
