You want to address the defense, look to your boy Spencer Hawes. He's the problem. Kevin Worked on his defense this off season and was actually trying out there in his 5 games this year. Spencer has pretty much been embarrassed every game this year on the defensive end.
"My boy"??? Where do you get that?

Figure of speech. My wife gets on me all the time for calling people 'her boy' when I'm not trying to show possession, I'm just talking how I talk. So I can understand what he meant due to me using the same lingo.

"Forget this Kevin Martin guy. The guy we really need is J.J. Redick!"
Ironically of course if all you needed was a spot up 3pt shooter, and taking salaries into account, you might actually do as well with Reddick. Kevin's value is that he is more than a spot up shooter, and his cntract reflects that. If all he is going to be used as is a spot up shooter then there are a lot of guys around the league who can fill that same role far cheaper, freeing up money to be used on other positions.

Of course I think the inital premise is flawes -- we don't need soft defenseless shooters of any stripe, whether it be spot up shooters or major scorers. We're getting great shooting out of guys giving us a lot more than just their scoring -- that's ideal.

Rodriguez ( A ) -- Finsihed with what may well have been his career game -- and only 16 games in hw many Kings have already had those this season? Maybe everybody is jsut playing above their head, but in such a situation you just have to give some credit to the coach for getting more out of guys than anybody else has been able to, more out of them than maybe theythemselves even knew they had to give.
A lot of career games, but considering how young and promising the player on this team are, I like to think the players are developing or coming into their own as opposed to playing over their heads. Either way, agree that the coach deserves a lot of credit.

Without taking away a thing from Westphal, who I credit with exactly what you're crediting him with, that was only Sergio's 10th NBA game where he had 24+ minutes of PT. I think we'll be seeing more career games out of him before long.

Hey I love Spencer, I really do. He plays for my Kings and that makes me love him. But dude does have flaws in his game. Fixable ones, but they are still there. Like the penchant for hoisting 3's.........

Damn I hadn't realized that he has played so few minutes. I knew it was low but only 10 games with 24+ minutes, damn....

That was exactly my point. The OP said that we were bad in 3 point shooting. Most of our missed 3 pointers are wide open, be it Noc chucking or Hawes or whatever. You don't need a Kevin Martin to hit wide open 3s, a j.j redick or douby would suffice.

I don't think Sergio is playing above his possibilities and I don't know that sure if this was his better match. Well, point per minute and zero turnovers is hard to repeat, but he had a double digit games with 23p-11assists two years ago against Denver Nuggets.

The point is, what people here is discovering, he only has played more than 24 minutes in 10 matches during his 3 year career...
