Yes, Piksi, I've watched a few, almost all home games up close and personal, which is EXACTLY why I made the comment that they DON'T want to force the action. I don't like seeing turnovers in the closing minutes of a game. Perhaps you do?
Or were you referring to the comments about Peja? Peja is one of my favorite players. I have a license plate on my car that reads PEJA 4 3. I'm not bashing him, simply stating that I can't recall him hitting a game deciding shot in recent memory. Perhaps you can enlighten me? Maybe it has just slipped my mind, eclipsed by the jarring memories of shots ricochetting off the back board or hair balling in crunch situations.
He's hit shots in the last minute, those I recall, but the game winner? Something with it ALL riding on that one shot?

I remember the Detroit game. It was remarkable precisely because it was the first time he'd hit a game winner/tier in three years. Peja is NOT the guy you want taking that shot as a rule.

dude have you noticed that in the playoffs... the only games that peja shows up to are games that we lose.... he scored like crazy in the minny game and we lost because of his inability to hit a freethrow. he had hit like 70 in a row.... then all of a sudden, clank.... and we lose because of it, that and no one could stop kg in ot. same thing happened the year before against dallas.... if its a close game, i want the ball in bibbys hands as much as possible.

But, you are right, Peja is not a big game/big play guy. He doesn't have that mentality (that webb and bibby do). Kings should hire a psychologist to work with him on that and on being less afraid to get hurt.

We sit on this board in judgment of the Sacramento Kings. A professional basketball team playing at the highest level league in which the sport is currently played. Every single member of the Kings has played, coached, GM'd basketball at a higher level than you have no matter whether you're totally full of **** or not. Do you think we are going to sit here and critique Rick Adelman and Geoff Petrie and be remotely interested or impressed if gee, you know how to bounce a ball?

You gotta WANT to take that shot with all the desire in the world. Bibby has that, as we saw tonight to go into overtime. Webber has it, which we've seen a couple of times this year already. Pedja doesn't have it - so get the ball to someone who does.

Im sure if Peja went to Webb and said... Webb, im gonna get open, I WANT this shot... Trust me... Ill hit it... Webb would look for him for the full 24...

I'm all for switching it up and drawing up some more plays to keep defenses honest in the final moments of a close game. But, I've got ZERO problems seeing the team run a play that has been so very successful.
This is just silly. Pedja is one of the premiere shooters in the league but he cannot create his own shot. Bibby and Webber CAN create their own shots and they are more than willing to step up and take that last shot. Pedja seems reluctant to do so.
What difference does it make? It's not who ON the team makes the shot that's important; it's that SOMEONE on the KINGS makes the shot AND it goes in.
The rest is simply details and stats for people to argue about on message boards.

Thruth of the matter is that most teams over gaurd Pedja (Webbas well) espcially when he gest hot, which means in tight situation for him to force a shot means ignoring the open man. On at least 3 major palys tonight the Kings capitalized on the attnetion Pedja drew when Miller faked the pass, when Webb faked the pass and when Pedja passed out of the converging hornets to find Bibby fo the last second three to tie the game. Down the streach it is VERY likely that with good fluid offense, passing the ball and looking for the open shot that Pedja will not get the ball. BUT never under estimate what his presence onthe court does for the offense by drawing the double teams there by creating and opeing for some one else. So pleas kids relax on the Pedaj is bein ignored or Pedaj should get the ball crap. The Kings put 5 scoring threats on the floor at all times... I wnat the open guy to shoot regardless of the name on the back of the jersey.

I was busy during the game so I didnt get a chance to pay too much attention to the game. In the latter half of the game was it Peja not moving enough or was it the other 4 players on the floor not looking for Peja enough? Or a combination of both?

I love Webb, but thought he shot entirely too much last night.... especially on some plays where he would just get the ball at the top of the key and then shoot it. But sometimes he had to shoot because no one was moving or there were really no other options. It's always a catch-22 with him, and he's crucified no matter what, so that's the end of my statement.
Mike was also making some interesting decisions that I did not agree with where he would just jack up threes without really getting anyone else involved (yes, these were far and few between, but he didn't do so well last night either).
And Brad decided to start taking shots again, which was a good sign. He mixed it up inside and out and even though everything did not fall, at least he was trying.
However, I don't think our loss had to do necessarily with our shot selection or WHO shot the ball. I think it had EVERYTHING to do with the team defense and the laziness of the guys on the floor to play last night. What some people aren't taking into account is even if your team is doing very WELL on offense, if you refuse to play any defense, you shouldn't win the game. We left the perimeter opened in all of OT and that's not going to win you any games. The TEAM is to blame for the lack of defense, and that's where the analysis should end.
P.S. And also, the Hornets played a good game. When they needed to play defense, they did.

I can't even believe that this thread has turned into an argument over who wasn't getting the ball enough in the game. RELAX!!! Noone can deny that Pedja had a good game and Webber didn't really have one of his better games. The fact that we are arguing over who got the most shots in the OT is SILLY since THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OVERTIME against a team like NO.... Kings should've finished that game in 48 minutes and not let it come to this. So for that fact alone, it is not Pedja's fault, or Webb's or Mike's....... IT IS THE WHOLE TEAM"S FAULT.

This saying "It's just one game" is gettin' really old ....
Face it folks, we're not back to being CELLAR DWELLARS and we're no way near as competitive as our Kings have been the past few years ... our Kings our MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. We'll have our bad games and we'll have our time to celebrate ... bottom line ... 1st Round and OUT !!!!
