No longer. But ironically it WOULD if we had committed to the full rebuild. I cancelled out precisely as a protest of our front office's asinine inaction. If things were being done right, I would support that through the necessary lean times and would have reupped. However I will not support folly, cowardice, delusion, or pandering, and sent the message in the best way I know how: I took my money and left.
If you don't watch every game, it is easy to start rooting for losses but than are you really a fan?
The bind that people who spend money on this team is that when you lay out a lot of cash, you don't want a loss. Losses are not fun.
And for those who watch it on TV, how many have quit watching? If you don't watch every game, it is easy to start rooting for losses but than are you really a fan? I will bet that most of the people rooting for losses picked this team when they moved to Sacto, picked this team when it was hot and now are stuck with them, or follow brick because he is a basketball guru.
Intellectually I understand the upside to losing. I'm not stupid. We ALL understand the value in losing. MY problem is that I am a die hard fan.
Glenn said:After a win, I don't want to hear this intellectually correct crap about wosses and lins. I want to enjoy the moment and not come to this board just to get pissed off because some people who call themselves fans want this team to lose. That's what happens and I do not understand the need of some of you to spoil my fun. When this board becomes a place that kills my enjoyment as a Kings fan, I go away.
If someone doesn't watch political debates live, but only reads about them after the fact, are they really Americans, or should they be stripped of their citizenship and deported?
It's unfortunate that you take a difference of opinion so personally. As I've said numerous times before, I don't think that there is anyone on this side of the fence who is expressing their opinion with the specific purpose of spoiling anyone else's fun.
Just because you're not happy to read something doesn't mean that I shouldn't feel entitled to say it.
This thread is being re-opened with a warning not to revisit that ugliness of a few minutes ago. If you guys have a need to get that off your chest, you need to take it elsewhere.
Honestly, I think a new sub-forum for revelry might be a good idea. Whether you're rooting for a win or a lin, there are almost always things to revel in. There are plenty of threads that would naturally fit into such a forum. Any Questions?, DIE LAKERS SCUM, Did you see that block?!?, etc.
I don't think the Kings Rap forum should really change, but any thread or discussion where negative or debbie downer responses aren't appreciated would have a home in the revelry forum. It would be easy for people to avoid if they aren't in the mood to revel, and it would be a nice play to hang out for those that don't want to be brought down from the clouds at the moment.
Am I missing a downside to this idea?
Its the suggestion that people with a particular opinion should be required to hold their tongues for a set amount of time after a win that I find to be outrageous.
I agree. Isn't that what a message board is for - to make comments whether positive or negative.i don't think you should have to wait make positive/negative comments whether we win or lose. even if your opinion is that we "wost' the game.
I wouldn't say I preferred to watch a loss, but it honestly doesn't bother me to see them lose right now. They've played hard in almost every game and that's all I can ask.Given that a win hurts us, would you have preferred a loss while you were at the game spending all that money?
Responded however with a pair of his newfound thunderhick dunks, one in the first half, one in the second. And the one in the second half even coming in traffic and having Brad hopping around and yelling about what a badass he was.
Oh man, you had me laughing at this one. That should be his new nickname - Thunder Hick.Like Hacksaw Jim Duggan he can come out with a shotgun (instead of a 2x4 or whatever it was) and come stomping around the court to entertain the crowd during warmups and shoot hotdogs into the crowd.

Not with the shotgun, I hope.

So what, just shut down the board for 12 hours after each game?Well, we COULD do it evenhandedly. For 12 hours after each game, it could be forbidden to express either disappointment with the outcome, or happiness with the outcome. But maybe that would qualify as overreaction to your post asking whether or not we had wost the game.
... my excitement and celebration of last night's game was not deterred in any way, shape or form by the comments of a "woss" situation, etc. because I chose not to let them.
And I'm sure some of my pollyanna celebratory comments were of little impact to those who didn't view last night's game with the same enthusiasm I felt.
My advice? Choose those people whose posts you want to read and ignore those people whose posts irritate the crap out of you. It makes life a lot easier.
