grant's and jerry's constant verbal diarrhea regarding isaiah thomas has sprinted well past the realm of fixation and arrived squarely at the altar of pathology. to mix sports metaphors a bit, i'm reminded of a scene in forrest gump when he's playing for the high school football team, and runs past the end zone after scoring a touch down. it was good for a laugh the first time, but grant and jerry continue to sprint past the end zone every single game, and they no longer even have the ball in their hands. isaiah thomas is a quality scorer and the kind of high energy spark plug that a lot of teams would surely value, but he's no savior. he's no star. he's not even a starter, in my mind...
more to the point, the kings are losing. they've been losing. they're continuing to lose. now, i know there's a tendency for a fanbase to inflate their sense of a team's progress in spite of what the win/loss column says, but the kings remain in last place in the western conference. last place!! they're not even close to shouting distance of the playoffs. the tenth seed can't be bothered to decipher those echoes from so far away, much less the eighth seed. more work must be done to improve this roster, particularly on the defensive end. in order to make room for that side of the ball, subtractions will need to occur in addition to any players the kings may acquire. in my opinon, isaiah thomas either needs to be subtracted from the starting lineup and returned to the bench, or traded altogether...
