Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Hmm...mostly close game, then slow lengthening into blowout type numbers by the end...to Pretty Girl, or not to Pretty Girl, that is the question...
all things will be resolved in time...
Edit: to Pretty Girl!
Made easier since yes, a poster who has foolishly revealed his presence in this thread did indeed PM a pretty girl request a month or so ago, about the time of the Nocioni led Great Pretty Girl Theme Die Off (for which Noc shall forever burn in the netherworld). And I have another partially completed list of my own so, while I'm reasonably sure that we've got a couple more blowouts left in us, the end of the seaosn is drawing close now, and I would hate to leave any Pretty Girl unturned by the end of it. So yes, Aleksander, Pretty Girls: College Edition, from that link you sent me.
Special Note: these girls are all part of a nationwide college girls calendar series, with 100% of proceeds dedicated to breast cancer research (note the logo in the top right of the pics). So its all for a good cause, which is of course what the Pretty Girls themes are always all about. Just doing our part and spreading the good word.
Cisco ( D+ ) -- on the first possession of the game he came up with a block on Wallace, before being overpowered on the follow. The overpowered part would go ont o be the story of the night ratehr than the block, as Gerald just barreled over and through him all night long. Set McCants up nicely for back to back 3pt attempts in the mid 2nd quarter, but was offensively inept himself. Played the entire first half on the shorthanded team and complained after the game of fatigue. Missed and missed and missed some more in the 3rd, but would not quit taking shots. Some of them werre good, some bad. A lot of open little jumpers, but hit nothnig. Predictably did the oh so tired and slightly dangerous Cisco charge in t he 4th, all of a sudden hitting his shots in the early quarter and getting into it a bit with Gerald before going quietly into the night with a 7-21 shooting performance. Meanwhile Gerald was just plain nasty wiht 25 and 12. I'll throw a plus on this just for the late faux charge.
Christina - University of Wisconsin -- yes, because as everyone well knows, you want to find hot babes, you go to Wisconsin.
Thompson ( B+ ) -- was one of two players, along with McCants, who largely carried us in the first half. Pretty much just a mop up man this time out, but did a much better job against the as always wildly inconsistent Boris Diaw than last time (Diaw killed him the first game), and then of course had no problems at all outhustling Radmanovic. Did not challenge big Diop, but passed out of his presence solidly. Was a constant pain for the Cats, who dominated the glass against everyone but Jason. Diaw's incompetence might have had a lot to do with tt too, as even Donte got inside him to the hoop, while when Okafor moved over onto Jason the fun suddelny stopped. Slowed down in the third, and began to lose his cool and get overconcerend with the refs again as he disappeared entirely in the 4th. I stayed with the B+ here for being a steady big man presence through most of this, although the late fade maybe argued B.
Casey Carlson - University of Minnesota -- and if Wisconsin was not cold enough for you, to find Casey you have to traipse all the way up to Minnesota. Which, alas, means she almost never gets to wear this bikini. Which just sucks.
Hawes ( F ) -- ok. This was just bleeping horrid. No idea why It just was. Soft and weak and completely ineffectual -- I knew as soon as I noted Spencer's hot streak before last game that I was setting him up for one of his inconsistent falls, but jeesh. Not remotely physical enough to defense to keep Okafor from getting whatever he wanted to, and was just forcing up junk on offense. A complete nothing first half for no apparent reason -- the Cats are not big inside. Just a wipeout -- 0-3, 3fls, 0rebs 0 anything in 11+ minutes. Was ever so slightly more competitve in the early third, and added both of his 2 assists on the night during that little stretch, but then foul trouble largely took him out of the game, and you have to believe the Cats were as pissed at the refs as Spencer was (Spencer contribted a nice technical late in the game just to complete his night) that he was being taken out of the game. On the night, 25+ minutes. 6 fouls. 2 points. ZERO rebounds. How do you play 25+ minutes at 7'0'' tall and grab zero rebounds? When you're taller than the man guarding you, and the other team runs two blown up SFs (Diaw and Radmanovic) at PF? Like I said -- horrid.
Mandy - Florida Gulf Coast University -- now see this is more the sort of place you are supposed to find pretty bikini girls -- did not even know there was such a place as "Florida Gulf Coast University". I'm betting its in Florida. Probably over on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. And now thanks to Mandy, its all of a sudden looking like a hot destination.
