Please sign Hassan Whiteside to a 3 to 4 year long term guaranteed contract (with team options, if possible).
When you are lucky enough to get a projected lottery pick who slides to you in the 2nd round, such as Hassan Whiteside, Dejuan Blair, DeAndre Jordan please, please, please sign him to a longer term contract.
Please do not low ball him because he is a 2nd rounder. The standard, typical non-guaranteed 1 year (i.e. Jon Brockman) or 2 year contract for a 2nd rounder will not suffice with this pick. He has a lot of potential, but he is a project player. In 3 or 4 years he may be your starting PF or Center.
So, to the Maloofs and GP, please open up your pocket books and give him some security of a 3 or 4 year contract to allow him to blossom with the Kings. I think he will be a special player, but he needs time to develop.
