Cousins should've still made it, but the only thing that even coaches who hold a grudge against Cousins can use to not select him was not winning or at least have a decent record. Vivek had to give them that excuse.
Cousins might still get selected as a replacement, but this is a slap in the face for someone that is really the best center in the league right now.

It's flat out on Vivek and PDA if Cuz in fact did not make it.
There is no way after our start and under Malone, even if we fell off a bit and remained near .500 that there would be any possible excuse for not voting him in. But plummeting into the depths of the lottery discussion before the AS break is enough ammo not to select him in the stacked WC. This falls squarely on our GM and owner who tossed winning aside.
These are the repercussions. Ben was a repercussion too, not making the rising stars game. And it likely gets worse as with us so far out of playoff discussion, I'm not sure how great Cuz's chances are at making an All-NBA team. So what's he playing for? And that's scary with Fegan as his agent, that we're still in Jan, it's Cuz's 5th year and he doesn't have much to play for at this point beyond numbers/respect of his peers.
And yes, Cuz got screwed. Got screwed big time. You just don't see players putting up his numbers with his impact not in the AS game. But the only possible excuse for not picking him, a lack of winning, was out of his hands. It's on the owner and weasel GM who apparently have his back. Great job supporting your franchise player, fools.

It's at least some recognition of the top 5 player we have here and that we have at least something going well for us. But it's so toxic that the best center in the game can't even get the recognition he deserves and this fan base now has literally not a single good thing to look forward to this year.
