*Ahem* 1999 -- Chris Webber?

Worked out ok. ;)

Its just the same rule as KG or whatever, you get a chance at a star who might deserve the "super" next to it, you gotta go for it. A couple of years agao an old antagonist on this board was advocating getting TMac from Orlando, and I was hesitant. Well...I was wrong. If we could somehow nab a truly great teammate for Ron, we might legitimately have another shot at the big prize.

You do realize how it "worked out" don't you?

Yeah...5 straight 50 win seasons as one of the glory teams of the NBA, 7 straight playoff seasons and coming a couple of FTs from an NBA title. Terrible times to be sure.

Superstar talent talks in the NBA, always has. even injury-prone talent aty that level gives you a chance. And that's really all you can ask for. No way to guarantee a title, so just get yourself in the conversation and cross your fingers.

Houston has a connundrum that is for sure. The guy that they pay the huge bucks and is supposed to make the work is injury prone, the big guy that was supposed to dominate has not really paned out like they thought he would BUT the best chance they have for improvmet is to build arround them. Problem is the rest of the team sucks so bad they make the non-Kobe Lakers look productive. So do you trade the rare big man who is really good, but not able to put the team on his back? or the hot 2 gaurd that on his good nights looks like the best playre in the leage (but hasjust as many bad/injured nights)? tough call. IF Houston doesgo to move TMack it will likely involve at least one very very promising young player or more than likely an establisded star of at lesast Vince Carter caliber.

Which is why as I mentioned before if such a thing ever were to happen a Bibby + one of our kids at OG would seem to be a likely starting point.

Well then, you'd better buy a really big bottle of PeptoBismol.

It's July 9. Just because you're impatient doesn't mean they're going to do anything any sooner than THEY want to.
