[Game] Game 67: Kings v. Clippers, 3/18/15 - 7 pdt

if i had just watched the box score but not the game, i would agree. But having watched the game, i am not OK with pee poor defense. Letting Chris Paul shoot open jumpers all night, letting JJ Reddick, Chris Paul, Hedo shoot open 3s all night, especially in a close 4th quarter. totally not ok

Whatever... I'm still not that disappointed. You can feel free to feel however you like, okay?

And a part of me doesn't mind that he did it in front of Vlade and Kings fans.I always liked Hedo. It will probably be the last time he gets a stat line like that ever.
I feel like he'll probably have one of these"WTF" games in the playoffs and his name starts trending #1 overall on twitter, but Clips end up losing anyways.

How come we haven't called up more D-League players and gave them an honest chance on the team? The season is over. Let's see what is down there and keep them in the game.

Any player who's played on the Bighorns this season who has any hope whatsoever of playing at the next level, with the possible exception of Bhullar, is already somewhere else.

I liked this game.

Kings played very good D, and were extremely active crashing the lanes and generating turnovers. Unfortunately, Clips just couldn't miss tonight from 3. The Kings were slow to rotate (DC being gone obviously hurt a lot on the perimeter), but at the same time you can't really defend 45% 3pt shooting from an entire team.

Stauskas played great in the 4th quarter, I think that's the best stretch I've seen from him I Sacramento. A very nice sign from him. If he has a great summer he can play a role here next year.

This was a solid effort from a severely overmatched team. At this point, I'm happy to get more ping pong balls and wait for our guys to come back healthy next year.

Anyone who remotely thought this game was competitive, or that the Clippers were even trying to stop the Kings from getting their points, really needs to watch closer.

Here's a pic to describe this game more accurately:

Why is it so important to you that we all march in lockstep to the same conclusion? I'm sorry if it bothers you, but I enjoyed the game and saw little things that I found encouraging. If you didn't, that's fine...but I'm not going to quit looking for reasons to be optimistic and I hope the other Kings fans who came away with similar feelings to mine won't either.

There's a reason why the Clips couldn't miss from 3. A large majority of them were wide open shots. Other than Chris Paul getting mid range shot after mid range shot, we clogged up the middle and dared them to shoot. And after a pass or two, they were wide open. In fact, they missed a ton of wide open shots as well. I'm not trying to be negative and kill your vibe, but if letting them shoot 51% and 45% with a A/TO ratio of 27 to 11 while giving up 116 points is good D then...well.........

Ahem. I believe you're forgetting a certain 5'8" son of the greatest passer of all time.

Apparently you didn't read my post, but okay. I said the kings were slow to rotate to the open man. But CP3, Hedo, and Redick all hitting those shots at an incredible rate isn't a given, either, even with the shots being mostly half-open.

We were out our top 2 players. We had no business being close by halftime, much less down the stretch. A big part of why this game was close was active defense and disrupting Clippers ball movement, but at the end of the day that was not enough, and never will be enough for an injured and adjusting team facing a playoff contender that is peaking and making a push for it's playoff life and seeding.

I read exactly what you wrote, but you can't just use the excuse of simply saying that we played good D but they kept making the open shot. They were open because we weren't playing good D, simple as that.

Kings have given up at least 12 three pointers in three straight games.

At least 12 3PT makes in 3 straight games. How is that even considered "very good D"?

You plainly did not read what I wrote, or you have poor reading comprehension, or you are on the "all things about the Kings suck" bandwagon, because I said they played poor 3 point defense. I also implied that giving up those looks in exchange for jamming up passing lanes to the interior (where our best player notably was not) is not the worst strategy, and is something that the Kings did well. We were also playing short-handed in a meaningless (for us) game against a team gearing up for a playoff run, and held our own and kept it close well into the 4th. I think that the defensive strategy was a big part of that, and it was broken by the Clips shooting 45% as a team (seriously, even 40% and were down to the wire).

But no, the Kings suck and everything they do is garbage. I forgot, sorry.

Great game by JT again got the better of Blake I thought, Hollins did his thing as did big Reggie, Dre chipped in but the Clippers ball movement and execution along with Cp3 was just to much. Rudy had a favorably match ups all night and only mustered 6-19 and they weren't even doubling him much and Ben sore wrist or no sore wrist that was the dumbest game he's played all year with aimless drives non stop.

I'm just having a hard time seeing Ray Mac as a back up PG in the NBA, i love his effort/body language but he's just lacking certain things that are vital to being a PG in the NBA, I hope he pulls through but yeah I don't see it at this point in time.

I have a problem seeing Andre Miller as a backup PG in the NBA.. he's sooooooo slow. There's a reason why CP3 lit up tonight.. I think Miller is heading out towards the door soon. I think Ray Mac can have a nice stunt in the NBA. He's more of a scoring guard, but this team is already heavily packed with iso ball players that adding a player like Ray, doesn't help. I don't think he's a PG, but he's a scoring guard. I think he has a spot in the NBA.

Yeah we need a back up PG (or if we can get a starting one) next year that's not Dre/Ray I would like Dre back as the 3rd PG

Nothing stops this team from poaching players from other D-League teams as long as they don't have NBA contracts. Site http://dleague.nba.com/ even has "prospect watch" section for lazy executives. If not to get them on floor, just sign a 10-day contract to take a closer look in practice.

If Ray and Andre were the PGs for a full season, we just wouldn't win much. I like both but they are backup types right now. This team misses Collison quite a bit.
