Game 43
Golden State Warriors 0.17 versus Golden State Warriors 10.0

A live shot from inside the Kings front office.

The current worst team in the league (it's a tie with the might Knicks, who at the very least know that they're bad and are actively playing the few young guys they have) against the runaway best team in the league. This couldn't possibly get ugly by the halfway mark of the first quarter.

Totally forgot there was a game today, by the way, which makes me one of the lucky ones.

Also have to be up for work in six hours so instead of a write-up, here's a ten minute clip of the general emotional state of the Sacramento Kings fanbase right now.

PS. I wonder what team Vivek roots for tonight.

Which one are we?

Oh, I misread that as "best team at running away."
Mea Culpa. (That's my bad, for you non-Latin types.)

If I am to believe Capt.'s Kingability Index (we can haggle with the name later), I think he might have the Kings winning this one. Should that happen, the internet will break.

Oh, I don't have the Kings winning this one. But haggle-name theorem would have the Kings playing WELL tonight. Full effort, look like a competent basketball team, not embarrassing ourselves. Under the circumstances we can do that and still lose by 10-15.

If we're going to beat Golden State we need to do this right.

Start Collison, Sessions, McLemore, Gay and Cousins.

We need to run, run, run. Go, go, go.

Golden State runs fast, we need to run faster.

Golden State shoots a lot, we need to shoot a lot morer.

Golden State plays some defense, we need to.....well actually that's not as important as style of play, so lets skip that.

If we do all the things Golden State does but gooder than them, we will be victorious. Almost worked last month when we last played them but we've improved a ton under coach Corbin and the outstanding intellects in the front office. So we shall see.

We all know there is zero chance the Kings win this game if things are on the up-and-up.

My conspiracy angle vs the Warriors:
With the absurd connections between the Warriors and the Kings, Vivek convinces the Dubs to sit this one out (they've got a nice record) and allow the Kings a shocking win to alleviate some of the intense pressure the FO is receiving.

Maybe we should offer a reward for the first person who captures Vivek accidentally clapping for the Warriors on camera? :)
Pretty sure Vivek won't be there. He's in Switzerland or Washington DC or on the way to India or something.

He disappeared when the poopoo hit the fan.
Yes and no. It does appear that there have been a number of games where he hasn't been there but there have at least been a couple like the Indian themed one where he was. I'm not going to fault the man on taking the opportunity to go on a "economic mission" trip with the POTUS.

On the one hand, the Kings face total humiliation against the Warriors if they don't play with maximum effort and efficiency. On the other hand, the Kings have no confidence in the coach, the system, or the organization. That's a bad, bad place to be in.

This will be my last note on this subject. I think Vivek has goals far bigger (to him) than creating a great basketball team. Part of it has to do with bringing basketball to India. Therefore, I am not surprised that he appears at Indian themed games. The major part of his globalization is in India. I think he has a lot of irons in the fire and the Kings are not as high on his list of priorities as we would like.

I didn't know what games he saw and what games he skipped. Now I know and it is not reassuring.

Is he recruiting the POTUS?
