Throwing a guy to the floor is kind of a big deal. I wouldn't be surprised if the league office suspends him for tomorrow's game, actually.

Did Cousins get ejected for that play, or did he get ejected for it being his second technical?

By blown out of proportion I meant more that folks will (and already have) use this to paint him out as a bad guy, everything he's done to improve his image was for nothing, you can't win with him, etc. Bringing all that garbage back is absurd.

I know it's Tommy Heinsohn, but on the local broadcast here Mike Gorman asked him what you would do with a player like Cousins (after he tossed Smart) and Tommy said 'trade him'. Tommy is insane. But that is the sort of 'out of proportion' stuff I'm talking about.

If he's suspended for tomorrows game, I won't have a huge problem with it. I don't think he should be, but I would understand it.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the team suspends Cousins to really send him tumbling into his comfortable world of distrust.
And that's the issue. Cousins has lost trust. He doesn't function at all without trust. That's what we're seeing. FO has kept him in the dark and not explained there actions. That, he can't deal with and the frustration shows on the basketball court. That body slam was not related to the game per se.

I am just sick. The guys don't deserve this, we don't deserve this and to be honest the other NBA fans don't deserve this. The only people that DO deserve to watch this crap are the brain trust that thought letting Malone go in order to "bring in a better product"

I'm starting to lose a little compassion for the players. You make millions to throw an ball in a hoop. Be professional and show up. We get it, you're pissed, etc. but for crying out loud man up! Not to take any of the well deserved vitriol away from the managements direction.

That's the thing. Cuz HAS matured, but apparently that was all tied with Malone. There's no denying the vastly improved mentality over the past year and a half.

But when you're a franchise guy (and he is) and the team is going through an incredibly rough patch (which they are), we need him to step up and be the leader. Not going the other direction.

That's all im saying
I may need it explained to me why nothing Cousins has done since returning from illness seems to count for 'stepping up'.

FWIW: This guy worked in PR for the Kings and was fired after Vivek & company took over. soo i think this says alot about the guys in charge.............

When you continually screw over decent people for no reason, it usually comes back to haunt you ... #notnamingnames #karma

Hmmm... oddly enough this is the area of this new ownerships business that is the most flawed. They didn't even have a real press release on Malones firing until hours and hours later. Then their "press conference" was a chair on the floor at the practice facility. Totally unprofessional organization these days.

Thrown out for second technical.

Doug says Smart hit Cousins at the knees, which I equate to clipping in football.

Of all the things to be angry at Vivek about, Cousins throwing a guy to the ground is just not one of them. This is on Cousins 100%. His attitude in this game has been absolute crap. He has to man up. He's in the locker room talking about it, basically accusing his teammates of letting the coaching change affect their game. He has to walk that walk, too.

100% on Cousins. I am terribly disappointed.
Christie just said cousins getting ejected was a direct result of him getting hit in the knees and SURPRISE, no foul. He lost it. I don't blame him one bit. I wouldn't have lasted as long as he did today.

He was ejected for a second technical. The call with Smart was called a double-tech. But I think it was a way for the officials to pussyfoot around the situation since he already had a tech. Smart's tech will be rescinded after the game, and that prevents the officials from having to worry about flagrant-1 or flagrant-2 or whatever. He's already out of the game.

Got it.

But team is being MISPLAYED. This style of play fails to utilize our strengths and makes our weaknesses bigger. Welcome to NBA 3.NO

Yesterday on Grant's radio show said their was no way this would happen. He said it quickly as if he knows something the fans don't. As much as I would like to have him back, I wouldn't hold your breath.
I know this won't happen, but our defense is worse, while our offense is pretty much the same. The only difference is that we dribbling the ball faster up the court but lose the time we gain by doing so, cause DMC is trailing this play all the time.
If this was really about playstyle, it's concerning that we don't see much of a difference in offense right now.

OMFG - The post-game crew just made the comment that Ty Corbin announced RIGHT BEFORE THE GAME that the interim tag has been taken off and he will be the coach for the remainder of the year.

Wow. Just freaking wow. The wheels on the bus have quit going round. They've fallen off, the axle has broken and the bus is sliding towards a very nasty-looking cliff.
