Do any of you guys really think the Kings should beat Phoenix without Cousins?
Sad to say but the Kings are just trash without Cousins. They just are. Without Cousins Phoenix has a lot more talent.
Had Cousins played, the Kings should win this game. Without Cousins they should lose this game and that's exactly what they did.
You can hate the front office all you want but this loss wasn't about style it was about not having that single wrecking ball (Cousins) who can pretty much single handedly beat Phoenix.

I actually think D-Will has a little more talent and athletic ability than the Morris twins. However based on their career arcs it's apparent the Morris twins (mainly Markieff) have more fire and work ethic. They continue to improve while D-Will is consistently inconsistent.

That's not the point. It was run and gun junk ball. Played right into Phoenix hand. If we play that way, not even Cousins can save us.

More reason to hate the FO IMHO. They scapegoated Malone when it's clear the roster is trash.
PDA displaced blame that should have fallen on his shoulders, and is leading our clueless owner around by the ego.

Why wasn't Casspi and Dwill not in the 4th quarter. They deserve to be out there instead they sit the bench. Nice!

Well they tried slow it down ISO and POST ball in the beginning of the first quarter and beginning of the 3rd quarter and it failed miserably both times. When Thompson and Evans were on the floor together the team was horrid on the offensive end and still bad on the defensive end.
The only time they showed flashes of being able to hang all game was when Williams and Casspi were in the game and they were running.
Of course with Cousins they should not play that way but without him they have no other choice.
Some of you guys seem to forget that without Cousins they literally have nothing in terms of inside or low post scoring (other than maybe Landry who doesn't start)

Yeah the roster is trash but it was trashier before they got here and you don't turn your roster from trash to treasure in one season.
As far as blame I don't event think PDA was blaming Malone for wins/losses but rather not playing his style which is even dumber. You can blame PDA for firing Malone and for wanting to force a style that their best player is not suited to but I don't blame him for the roster. I actually think he has made the roster a lot better considering before he got here their roster other than Cousins was pure trash. At least they have a few pieces now.

I agree PDA bought himself some more time by convincing Vivek to fire Malone. When Cuz missed time he saw his opportunity and went for it. SMH
I think a lot of D-Will's struggles is on the way Minnesota developed him. They threw him into the fire and swapped him around the 3-4 a lot. I believe D-Will can still be a good player in the NBA if he ever finds a sustainable team where they give him an actual role. D-Will is too versatile for his own good.... the more versatile he is, the more coaches will experiment with him.

Maybe I am wrong here but I swear this is the first year where the team was doing real well and then the FO destroyed the team.

I agree that the roster is improving, and that it needs more time... But the FO is behaving like the roster isn't the problem..
PDA inherited a crap roster. I think he should continue to make changes to our team. Too many holes still, but we've improved a lot on ball movement this season. That was a point of emphasis, but there's still a lot of improving to go.

It really seems like the FO is banking on the development of their younger players. They're hoping Nik will catch fire soon, and Ray will get better.
I think lack of perimeter shooting is our biggest problem. The next would be lack of a good PF/C next to Cousins. I also think that at PG, we are just OK, but I feel like we should try to improve there.
They're saving them for tomorrow's debacle against the Knicks.

I know very well what roster we have and I said nothing about feeding the post. Ben may get dunks in the open court, but he's more effective in a half court game coming off screens. Gay is an iso player. Collison can play either way.
Corbin just got finished saying that the team got lulled into PHX pace. So this isn't a function of the Kings having no choice. This is a roster full of players knowing that the FO wants them to run and gun and the roster not being equipped for it. They tried to play like PHX and got burned. Tried to play like GSW and got burned (with Cousins). This same trash roster was winning games and competing in the beginning of the year. Even competing without Cuz.

The Morris twins can shoot and in the NBA if you are a tweener that's the difference between being productive and being what Derrick is....Also the Morris twins have a similar personality to what Cousins has, where everytime they step onto the court they will get in your face and try **** you up.
Our defense is craphouse and aside from Derrick Williams not a single other player on this roster benefits from fast pace basketball even Mclemore looks better in the half court, the times he's played crap this year is when he's been out of control in a faster paced game.

Would have been nice if someone asked Corbin about this in the post game. Why on earth would you leave the only two PF type players that were effective against Phoenix on the bench during the 4th quarter?
The Kings basically spent the 4th quarter trying to play small-ball without their two most effective small ball weapons (Williams and Casspi playing PF or even C).

This is just getting ridiculous the way we are giving up points, also for the love of god when Cousins comes back can we PLEASE play Casspi and Williams together not one instead of the other, they are the only two productive players off the bench USE BOTH.
