Francisco Garcia

Hi all, just a post about Francisco.

In watching him play, there are certain things I really like about him:

- He passes the ball magnificiently
- He has a quick release when he shoots
- He takes the ball to the basket strong and finishes
- Seems to rebound well

(sorry to say, I haven't paid much attention to his defense)

I think the thing I like about him most though is his moxy. He just seems like he GETS it. He seems to have that charisma and confidence necessary to be a real good player in the league. I don't want to crown him an all star after three starts but I think the Kings have really found a player.

Any thoughts?

Garcia plays pretty scrappy on d from what I've seen. Not been bad.

I've been loving Garcia since his days at Louisville :).

I agree that he does have a long way to go. However, are we forgetting that he's just a rookie? I think he has certainly shown promise. He has a feel for the game and he plays hard all the time. Just like every rook ever to come into the league, he's learning the NBA game. He's not going to come in right away and save this team or even average 15 points a game. He is going to make a difference though. That's what you ask of rookies. To come in and make a contribution. I think he has done this to this point. The really good news is he is certainly going to get better.......

He is a really good player but sometimes gets excited, but thats what rookies do sometimes. You know like shoot too many times perticualry 3's and sometimes makes a couple of turnovers but thats pretty much it.

He will learn.

Certainly, I'm not too impressed with him. He played a decent game against the Spurs, but even there he was nailing shots that I don't think he can make on a consistant basis. Also too erratic at times.

His potential is very high. He can play either guard and the SF position. He is athletic, can pass and attack the basket. He just needs some time to develop. He still makes a lot of mistakes and I don't think he is comfortable on the floor yet. In the last game, he was wide open for a corner 3 but he forced a pass to Shareef instead and gave the Raptors a turnover. His rookiness also leads to a lot of fouls. Some of them are just called because he is a rookie, but most of him are just dumb fouls that he commits.
