First annual Kingsfans.com photo contest - OPEN NOW!

Thanks 6th! It's good to be home, although I did fall in love with the highlands and islands.

Believe it or not, I really missed kingsfans.com. :D

I did have a chance to get online at one point, but didn't really have time to post. My SIL couldn't believe that I just had to see who the Kings drafted. It was killing me. ;)

This is sort of a 4-part, um, comic that I shot of my dog. These were all 4 in succession with no posing, and they just came out this way. Showing how a dog can go from nice....to quite angry over one of its dear possessions

Cruz - How do you like your k10D? Nice to see a fellow Pentaxian.

VF, when is the deadline for submissions? I've been slacking. I did a nice photoshop job at work today but didn't take the original photo so don't think that one's eligible. I need to get snapping!!!

My cousin's cat yawning. (Or maybe trying to talk to me? lol!)

All photos were taken by my cell phone.

Nice shot CruzDude! What kind of DSLR did you use? I'm planning to get one soon, but I'm stuck between the Nikon D80 and D200, the Canon Rebel XTi and the Sony a300 and a350. :(

oooo I am going to take some with my el-cheapo camera tomorrow. I love that Panasonic.. It's a 3.2 MP camera that was a high end camera back in 2001-2002 but is average in today's market. It still takes nice pictures though, and I can edit/touch up pretty well in Photoshop.

This is a photoshop creation I did. I don't have the original photo but i can assure you this is me. Just imagine me with color and without the crazy background and fire and stuff...haha.

And for fun I'm going to include a scary clown i made out of one my friends, this one does include the original photo.

According to the exif data he has a Pentax K10D, this is also the camera I shoot with and its a nice system. Canon is also good but I liked getting image stabilization in the body since I could buy slightly nicer non-stabilized lenses that way. I'd stay away from the Sony.

Of the cameras you mentioned I think the D200 is the best, but that's because I don't like the smaller body sizes of the Canon Rebels, maybe you would. Canon also upgraded the XTi to the XSi which may or may not be better but if you can find a bargain on the 30D I'd consider that instead. Before I had the Pentax I shot with a Canon that was unfortunately stolen and I had to start over.

Try the Pentaxes if you can get your hands on one too. If you are going to use the kit lens or a lot of 3rd party lenses it is a ton of bang for the buck.

Just keep in mind that you're probably spending the most up front on the body but what you're really buying into is a lens system, take a look at which company offers the lenses you're most likely to use at the best prices and go with that.

Sorry for delay getting back. I have a Pentax K10D which this year was replaced with K100D. I chose that for two main reasons: (1) It is the only new generation DSLR that is entirely gasket sealed against moisture and water, splashing and momentary immersion (but not submersion or underwater); (2) it had a fully digital SLR 50-135mm zoom lens immediately available when I bought it last year.

Have taken sets of photos from a jet ski, along surfline at beach and soon from my kayak in the ocean. That's why the K10D. If you don't do are plan to take pics in the rain, from a jet ski or near big splashing, the Pentax is in the same category as the Canon, Sony, Nikon. Each can be argued as to their "pluses" and each have their minor "minuses".

I don't know. I didn't think this through very well, having been totally absorbed in the Classic Rides thread.

Ryan, don't you post in that Sacramento skyscraper forum with that new Greek style skyscraper is being built? The Parthenon or whatever it's called?
