Fire Petrie!

His time has come and gone here in Sacramento.

Over the past couple years hes driven this team to the bottom of the league with his appalling trades. We need a GM with some balls. Someone to take control of this team and turn it around. The entire world can see that these are ****y trades, so why doesn't this hey?...

If Petrie continues to run this team, we might as well say bye now...

Mark my words, if Petrie stays, the Kings will be leaving Sacramento within the next few years.
 
Is it all Petrie? Or do the Maloofs have something to do with it then we know?

I don't personally know. that is why I am asking.
 
I reallly think the Petrie is feeling a lot of heat from the Maloofs and that is why most of the crappy trades have happened. We can go ahead and kiss the team goodbye. The Maloofs are going to use a crappy team/poor attendance/no arena as an excuse to move the team. The maloofs almost got lucky the economy is down right now, its totally helping their cause....damn it.....
 
Unless you think Petrie should've been able to find something better, the decision between doing this and not doing anything was probably the Maloofs' decision.
 
a bit hasty if u ask me.. you need to give him at least 2 more years. this is the FIRST year in the actual rebuild. we dicked around the past 2 years when there was some awesome talent to be had.. oden, rose.. now we wait to suck in a year where there is no stud.

exert some patience and watch for what unfolds. if petrie cannot turn this ship around in 2 years i will be calling for him to be fired.

discontent started when webber was traded. building now for a long time.

This would be a great time, now that he actually has a good draft pick and some money to work with. Remember last time that was the case?

That said, now you have to give him this summer with the pick and capspace and see what he makes of it. Kind of a last chance before I'll jump full on board with a fire Petrie (this man has actually been after Drew Gooden for years :eek:) thread. And he'll have to do it this time with poor cash strapped owners as opposed to having the advantage of young free spending owners. But, this summer now. And then if he screws that up too...well, just go away and good riddance. Unfortunately if he screws it up he will have set us back forever and we are in for a long night
 
well, obviously we dont mean fire him right now, but next year may be the right time to start over completely. With brad gone and bobby gone at the end of the year, the old era really is over ...

Agreed. I don't really care much for the trade, even if I do like the players he brought in. It wasn't a smart move for a rebuilding team. In any case, I'll even give him until August until training camp to redeem himself.

Geoff Petrie devised a collection of players back in 2001-2002 who played the most exciting brand of basketball witnessed in decades that other NBA teams have attempted to replicate henceforth. So get a grip on your egos and false sense of righteousness, Geoff Petrie has earned a chance to right the ship. Who would be better? C'mon, let's get real. Believe in Geoff.
 
fire petrie? you dont fire the guy who keeps finding gems like martin, thompson, peja, turkoglu, wallace,garcia especially when you have a potential top 10 draft pick this year.. not unless there is a Portland GMlike person out there you dont drop petrie... you dont drop a 2 time executive of the year especially this coming draft.. not now.. just not yet


if you want to be down on some one blame it on the coaching staff... heck they cant come up with a defensive plan and offensive play with 6 brains working in suits?
 
GP was doing a good job. Unfortunately, his job was saving money right now ASAP. He can only do what his bosses ask.

You make an excellent point regarding Hedo and Peja. Look at all the Euros and foreigners who have come over to the US and tried to make it in the NBA. Alot, and there's been a lot of wash-outs. Meanwhile, the two guys that Geoff seriously pursued turned into STARS. Now maybe their careers have not been ideal because of injuries and extenuating circumstances, but his judgment of their ability and talent level was spot on.

going off the topic i recall there was once a class who were graduating honors.... professor lowered their grades and resigned the day after.... no one got honors ***hole

going back... switching GMS....its like finishing a thesis and your adviser decides to retire and this new guy comes in as your adviser.............and then the entire REWIND!!!!

same goes for rebuilding new gm and we set ourselves back a couple of seasons... you guys want to be the new clippers? or the hawks of the new decade? hell no!

besides i really blame the coaching staff now...cause didnt petrie line up some good selections the maloofs just got wowed with those other guys...

i was really ups when i found out GP and van gundy had something going on then he went to orlando... then we gut theus cause he was a "media guy" you going to trust guys like the maloofs on picking talent? the same guys who gave us the show living lohan? lol
 
The Kings are a work in progress. I'm pretty sure Geoff Petrie's goal wasn't to build the team we see today. Let it unfold before you try to march on the castle with the pitchforks and torches...
 
VF This thread is for the ones that thought we could get Dwight Howard, Lebron James and 2 1st round draft picks for Miller and Salmons. Just close it.
