First, its a little early to asking for the coaches head. However, I see some serious problems with the team. Cousins is playing like a below average center. He's getting out played by players that he should be superior to. His fouling crap has to stop. You can't keep him on the floor if he goes out and gets three quick fouls. I'm a huge fan of his, but I'm really getting sick and tired of it.
The entire offense looks confused at times. I'm not sure what type of offensive system their trying to play. And I don't think the players are sure either. I saw too much isolation, and too many quick shots. Everyone wanting to be the hero. Tyreke went from looking like an all star, to a scrub in just one game, answering my question of whether he can sustain that level of play. Its a sad state when after one half of play your best all around player is JT.
Defensively, they looked pretty good most of the time, except for a few breakdowns here and there. They done a good job of holding down the other teams shooting percentage. Unfortunately, theirs is worse. I just don't think you can win with a 12 man rotation, unless of course your the olympic team. It looked like Smart was just trying to find some combination that would work. But that always looks like a coach in the panic mode. Settle on a 9 man rotation and sink or swim with that group. If not, Smarts days are numbered. I hope that doesn't happen. I hope he's able to turn this around, because the last thing this team needs is another coaching change. His first order of business should be to get Cousins back on track. This team can't win without him playing at his best.

Probably too early to fire but it might be better now than later before everyone on this team is looking for the nearest lifeboat.

I dont understand why Smart is the only coach in the league that thinks a 10+ man rotation is a good idea. I do love the defensive effort however.

It's early in the season and rotations tighten up thru the year... Just a quick look thru the box scores and almost all the teams were playing 10 guys or more thru the first few games
Firing the coach will accomplish nothing.
It will make the organization look like even more of a mess.
It will make the team less attractive to any good coach.
It will again reset the development of the players.
It will delay the total overhaul the entire franchise needs.
Unless you got Nate McMillian or Jerry Sloan in the wings, there's nothing gained from letting Smart go.

This players on thus team showed no fire. Where was the energy? Why do we not have a set offense? Why don't we try a lineup that spreads the floor? Why am I paying money to watch this?
True, but that depends on whether the players are actually going to develop under Smart. Sort of a cut your losses thing eh?

I see what you're saying but what do you suggest? Let Smart keep coaching us to a pee poor record? Listen. This franchise is garbage. There IS NO development of players going on. Any player that has come to Sacto has received a huge stunt in development. I'll attribute that to coach Smart and every other garbage coach that we have had in the past years. We are not going to get better. The end. If you're waiting for this team to go on a run soon, it ain't happening. This coach is too incompetent with rotations and knowledge of the game in general from a coaching's perspective to allow any sort of flourishing to occur. Yes the roster isn't the best to work with, but I have seen things from this coach that I don't even see in high school ball. It is a mess, plain and simple.
That being said, there's no UP right now. We're in this neutral **** period which straight up sucks because our "prized" draft picks are nearing the ends of their contracts. It's a terrible cycle and will keep on happening unless major changes occur.
On the other hand, I partly agree. Firing Smart would not be a good idea WITHOUT having a respectable candidate in line. That being said, I could not BELIEVE the Maloofs possibly allowing the cycle of terrible coaches to continue just out of the sheer fact that it would too embarrassing for even them. Maybe they will LEARN this time, dish out some extra money. I'm sure a good coach would come if the money is there. There's not really many options at this point, but as long as they are owners, I feel like that is the only solution. We just hope for the best.
Worst case scenario would be firing Smart and letting the cycle continue. At that point, I'm pretty certain I'm done with this team. I've dealt 7 years with this BS and it just pains me to see so many former bottom tier teams moving their way up as we are stuck in a pit of mediocrity. It's sad really.

Never should have been hired in the first place but you can't be tight and get a good coach. Just does not happen. Smart is a slick talking bull**** artist, just as Theus was a slick dressing smooth talker. Maloofs love those types because they are shallow and cannot see the forest from the trees.

The team is a mess, for the first time ever I'm starting to question being a fan. Its not even worth it, and I've stuck it out through all the recent bad times (which I guess we could say started with Webbers knee). Its one thing to be rebuilding, but with the Maloofs as owners I literally have ZERO hope of this team ever being good again. Clippers 2.0. We're gonna be a farm team for the league. Jeeze, I wonder where Reke ends up? And Cousins?
Best thing that could happen to us as fans is if the Maloofs all die in a fiery plane crash, cause they sure as hell arnt selling.

The Maloofs are not going to fire Smart. He's doing exactly what they want. He is making fans tired of this team, losing their passion and their love for the team. This will result in an empty arena, and they will have an argument to move the team. That's their goal. They don't give a xxxx about Sacramento, being competitive and winning here.
This team right now is embarassing. And what hurts me is that we have some talent, and with a good coach we could at least be competitive. Not a playoff team maybe, but at least a fun 35/40 wins team.
I spent 165 euros, more or less 200 dollars to get the NBA League Pass and be able to watch the Kings. Right now I feel like I wasted my money. At least I love basketball and I can watch other games...

There is no team chemistry at all. Everybody just looks angry. I would guess everyone on the team wants to be anywhere but Sacramento. Unfortunately, I don't think anything gets better, as along as the Maloofs own this team. No good players or coaches will want to come to Sacramento as long as the Maloofs own this team. I hate them.

I noticed a lot of questionable body language out there tonight, sad to see. If you're going to mope around the court like children you'll generally lose the game. Sometimes anger will lead to a bit of gusto in the play, this is just sulking plain and simple, down the stretch some of the effort on D was just horrible, Cuz was literally walking out there.

Watching Smarts post game comments it sounds like the players aren't listening to him. They are playing the way they want to because they know how they should play. He is waiting for them to realize they need to try another way. I'm not sure this is a good HC strategy. It is probably doomed to failure. If the players want this coach around, they better start playing as a team. No one wants to see this team play the way they do.
Not sure if I would listen to him if I were a player.
