Other thing is no decent coach takes over a team mid season. If we were to fire Smart during the season, I'm nominating Petrie as the replacement. I'd like him to demonstrate just how he saw this talent fitting when he acquired all of it.
You mean we can't just bake Sloan some cookies and ask him nicely to come coach for us?
Can we please stop with the "firing the coach" thread? The Magoofs and Petrie are the constants throughout all of the losing post-Adelman. This group of players is so dumb I don't even think Popovich or Phil Jackson would make them that much better.
the players cant get a rythem going in the games thanks to coaches idiotic rotations/subs. they have no idea what their role is or when they will be in the game. it all comes down to coaching.

The thing is, the Kings were playing poorly from the outset of the game, with the starting lineup, before there were any rotations. Maybe the rotations later in the game contributed, but even without rotations they still were lousy offensively.
Sloan wanted back into coaching so badly he wanted the Charlotte position. I'm dismayed we didn't go after him after previous interest.
No he hasn't. He improved the defense a little over his own NBA worst defense last year. He didn't improve it from what we had under Westy.
Got to agree. No really good coach is going to want to work for the Maloofs. We desperately need new owners.Sloan may have wanted back into coaching but he most likely didn't want a first-class cabin on the Titanic. Sloan's not stupid. There's no way he'd come to work for the Maloofs.
So if players don't improve it has nothing to do with coaching? Dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Do you think guys like Kobe, Wade, Lebron, etc, improved mostly because of coaching? IMO, no. They improved because of hard work, determination, and drive. The entire basketball world knew the deal with Cuz before the Kings drafted him. It'll take Cuz, not Smart, to improve his game.
Smart is just fine, IMO.
But he doesn't play Jimmer enough!! lol
Seriously though, coaching is about playing to your players strengths and so far we have done anything but. But hey it's two games, a win tonight and everyone forgets the Wolves game and it's rosy.

Just a question for those who want Keith Smart fired - who can the Magoofs hire to replace him? They can only hire a coach who few other teams would want because no respected coach is going to want to work for the Magoofs!
